While the left tries to shower the country with emotional tales of why we need this, that, and every other thing, a few factual points, as recently demonstrated

- Dylan Roof should have never been allowed to purchase his firearm, however he passed an FBI background check, despite having been convicted of a felony.  That'd be a Government blunder, not a call for more Gun Control

- An Illegal Immigrant Felon who had no legal standing to be in this country, was granted protection from deportation, a flagrant ignoring of current immigration law, (literally rescued from Federal custody), who subequently then murdered a young lady just walking with her dad on a public pier

- Oh, and that gun the illegal immigrant felon used, was stolen out of a Federal officer's car....as in it had nothing to do with the number guns in this country, since it wasn't a gun that out-lived some law abiding citizen, and was just laying there in the street, waiting to be picked up.

- Hillary finally sat down to a reporter's questions, and managed to lie about almost everything having to do with her e-mail debacle.  Bernie Sanders must be grinning ear to ear.  This could be quite literally Hillary grasping defeat from the jaws of victory

The Federal government has no valid statistics on gun violence in the 1890's. There was no one even calculating this until the 1950's.

But still: the more guns there are, the more people will be shot.

Fewer guns will result in fewer people being shot.

Depends on which people are getting shot now, doesn't it.  Case in point, any validity to your unsubstantiated claim would deduce that its more of the bad gun nuts being shot, since violent crime continues to DECLINE, despite MORE law abiding folk owning firearms

lol....that's just words, with no context.  FACTS keep shooting down those words however.  More guns in in law abiding hands means more lives saved than taken in this country.  That's just a fact.  As well as it's a fact that while more people legally purchase guns, violent crime has been declining.  Hardly supporting the notion of more guns more people shot.

This can't be a direct connection or as our gun supply doubled over the past twenty years the rate of gun violence could not have gone down as it has.

More cars do not necessarily increase the number of drivers and passengers because cars are not made to kill people, and both cars and roads they travel on can be made safer.  Guns cannot be made safer unless they are required to be equipped with trigger locks and it=other things than prevent them from being used in some emergency situation.

If we imposed the same regulations the Swiss have, it would result in fewer people being shot. But even a modest arrangement such as this is against the gun nuts.

What part of we do have MORE guns, and yet violent crime is GOING DOWN, are you not getting??

And in THIS country, more lives are saved with a gun than those killed.  A minium of 7 lives saved to one taken

I wouldn't want a carbon copy of the Swiss laws , but they are doing a lot that I would agree with.

Would you really be happy with a mandatory military hitch for almost everyone?

Enough training to reduce stupid mistakes with guns by half would be very worthwhile, and having everyone take basic training might be just enough to accomplish this.

Since back when we had half so many guns we had twice as many gun shot incidents , you must be wrong by a factor of four.

  There are a certain proportion of us that are criminal , this is hard to change .

    This is the problem population, everyone agrees that this bunch having fewer guns might be helpful.

      But most of us won't commit crimes with guns even if we are supplied with twenty.

      If everyone has guns the number advantage is with the decent people.

       If you use the law to collect guns , the possession of guns advantage devolves entirely onto the ones that disobey the law.

         And in the process, many extra people will stop respecting the law.

Swiss military service would be acceptable, since Switzerland has not started a war or even fought in one since the 1700's. But that is not related to their gun laws, other than soldiers getting some training in gun safety, which would be a good thing.
