Jimmy Carter Has Melanoma in Brain, Liver
Former president to get radiation, plans to cut back on his schedule

ATLANTA: Former President Jimmy Carter said Thursday that doctors had found cancer in his brain in addition to his liver, and that he would cut back on his work schedule as he undergoes treatment that includes immuno-therapy and at least three months of radiation.

This is what one of my best HS buddies is currently dying of. They give him about three weeks. He had a very fierce dose of chemo and it knocked him out.
He designed greeting cards for Hallmark for 35 years.

SIRS is melanoma a form a skin cancer that spreads quickly to vital organs?

It sure can....referred to as malignant melanoma......that's why it needs to be found and treated quickly, before it has that opportunity.  If found and excised from the skin, pretty much no problems.  If it's already spread however....     .....whole different ballgame

Actually what my friend has is Non-Hodgkins lymphoma. They were treating it with chemo and stem cells.

ahhh, I see.  Yea, that's an altogether different form of cancer than President Carter's

That one has hit my family twice, in relations unconnected by genetic heritage.
