Nope, this is not true.
The Republicans were cordially invited to go elsewhere while the AHCA was composed in 100% Democratic smoky rooms.
There were enough Democrats in congress to make Republican support superfluous and the President is not the sort to build a consensus with opponents .
If the AHCA is not perfectly streamlined and svelte there is no need for Republicans to share the blame with the Democrats.
