She is good.

I raise my estimate of her chances every time I see her.

Nonetheless, her tenure at HP was a miserable failure.

You have but to Google.

Why would you say that?

Getting fired happened to Winston Churchill and Steve Jobs.

Not because of failure , because a board thought they could do better.

===============================================
Winston Churchill's hideously stupid plan to take Gallipoli from thee Turks in WWI using ANZAC troops as cannon fodder was the diumbest thing the British did in the entire war.

He based his clever plan on accounts of wars fought by Ancient Greeks, which ignored the obvious facts that no one in ancient times had cannons, rifles, mortars and machine guns. Thousands died for nothing.  A firing squad would have been entirely appropriate. It would have been more humane than the suffering of the dead and wounded at Gallipoli. Of course, Winston, being an aristocrat and all, considered the Aussies to be subhuman (scoff) commoners who should have been proud to die for His Fucking Britannic Majesty. Had he been an American, Churchill would never have been a part of any government. And who is to say that Englans=d counld not have found an equal or better replacement.

Steve Jobs screwed up as well, unaware as he was of the devious ploys of corporate ownership.

Point being that for whatever reason for the firing (And for Carly, it appears that it was simply in spite, having not played along with some on the board), they went on to become great individuals in history.  If you're so  into google, you can google folks who were fired and became extrememly prominent and successful, such as JK Rowling & Walt Disney.
