« on: October 06, 2015, 11:20:01 PM »
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Number_of_guns_per_capita_by_country

USA is number one!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_intentional_homicide_rate

Yes sorta...

Russia        66
Mexico        22
Brazil          18
Venezuela      2
Honduras        1

How about the best?

209 Switzerland
210 Bahrain
211 Hong Kong
212 Kuwait
213 French Polynesia (France)
214 Japan
215 Iceland
216 Singapore
217 Liechtenstein
218 Monaco

Which again literally shoots the nonsense that more guns equal more crime/death.  And even folks like xo concede that despite the ongoing proliferation of firearm ownership in this country, violent crime is declining.......outside of course those areas with the strictest gun laws

It's funny, Obama goes out of his way to politicize this one mass shooting in Oregon, and yet is deathly silent about the highest number of shooting murders in his Chicago hood, that they've ever seen.  Why's that I wonder?  And why would he so blatantly lie that supposed cities of greater # of gun laws, have had lower violent crime than other regions, when those facts can be demonstrated as the polar opposite??

It is worth considering.

To me it is counterintuitive , but it seems to some a strong self evident truth that more guns make crime more deadly.

I think this is because to me it is the difference between myself being armed or not .

To someone who will never choose to be armed , it is the difference in other people being armed or not, which reverses the perception.

I always have trouble finding real facts, the facts that are presented are presented mostly by zealots of one sort or the other. This produces selected facts.

Japan has very strict gun laws and has almost no gun deaths. TWO in 2012.
The US has lax gun laws and has 95000 gun deaths in a year.

Australia had a gun massacre 20 years ago and passed strict gun laws and has=d a buy back program and s not had a single massacre since.

The solution seems obvious

With a 2nd amendment that the U.S. has and no other country does, and more lives saved in this country than those taken by a firearm, and despite us being the highest per capita owners of firearms, but not even being in the top 100 in per capita homicides....not so obvious

I continue to be not impressed with your bullshit.

Every month we seem to have yet another unhinged gun nut shooting people he does not know.

Not my BS.  Simply facts that remain un-refuted.  But by all means, cinch up those blinders and dig a bigger hole that your head can remain firmly implanted

And the funny thing is, we don't have to go "another month".  We have guns killing people every day, if not every hour, in those gun control capitals of Chicago, Detroit, & DC

Unless we have controls that blanket the entire country, the problem will remain.

You are SEVEN TIMES more likely to get shot in  Louisiana or Arkansas than Hawaii.

Even though you loathe DC and Chicago, Louisiana and Arkansas are more dangerous when it comes to getting shot.

And you can't have blanket controls over a Constitutional right no more than you can over one's 1st amendment rights.

And there are SEVEN TIMES more lives saved by the use of a gun, than those taken by one.  And that's the low ball figure.  Other stats demonstrate an even higher ratio of lives saved to taken

No, that is still bullshit. Not buying it.

Perhaps in Japan, if there were two lives saved by guns, fourteen heretofore nonexistent Japanese would spring into being. Hai!

You're not required to.  Those facts just are.  By all means, stick that head as far into the ground and keep yelping "nananananananananananana......iwontlisteniwontlisteniwontlisten.....nananananananana"

People who plan to run a country in which people are massacred regularly with guns have an OBLIGATION to discuss gun control.
Considering that George Wallace, Gabbie Gifford,  John Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, and even Ronald Reagan surrounded by armed guards, were all shot by gun nuts, it makes perfect sense that they have security protection.

Your reasoning is feeble and lame, CU. And you copied this, so it is unoriginal as well.

LOL......and the sun isn't yellow, and the sky isn't blue, and the earth isn't the 3rd planet in our solar system.  That's how "untrue" these gun facts are
