There are several Puerto Rican accents. There is the accent of Puerto Ricans who still live on the island and learned English in school, the Nuyourican accent spoken by NYC Puerto Ricans like John Leguizamo, and the abuelo accent learned from grandparents who lived in NY and returned to retire and look after the grandkids.

   Should it be easier to get speaking programs to sound similar to their owners?

     Is the use of electronic devices standardizing language ?

      If it is , is this bad?

It is clear that American English has become much more uniform since TV has everyone watching the same programs. The same is true of Spanish. Local accents remain, but the pronunciation of words is more uniform now in both Spanish and English from the 1960's. It is a good thing in that it has made people more intelligible to one another.
