France Plans To Shut Down Up To 160 Muslim Mosques

In the wake of the Islamic terrorist attack in Paris, France plans on shutting down up to to 160 mosques in the next few months. French President Francois Hollande announced a state of emergency after the attacks, bolstering security measures across the country. Authorities argue that the mosques pose a threat to national security, operating as hubs of radicalism.

"According to official figures and our discussions with the interior ministry, between 100 and 160 more mosques will be closed because they are run illegally without proper licenses, they preach hatred, or use takfiri [threats against apostates] speech,""French-Islamic bureaucratic state mediator and Muslim prison chaplain Hassan El Alaoui told Al Jazeera on Wednesday. "This kind of speech shouldn't even be allowed in Islamic countries, let alone secure countries like France."

Despite assuming a security-conscious posture, the Islamic leader still stubbornly refused to acknowledge the glaring fact that the terrorists that attacked Paris were driven by religious motivations. "Those terrorists are a bunch of thieves and drug dealers that wore religious clothing. The whole issue is not about Muslims, but about terrorists. It's an issue of security for everyone," snapped El Alaoui.

El Alaoui apologist rhetoric taps into leftist PC culture, excusing and defending an ideology at the expense of human life. Both President Obama and Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton have espoused the same cowardly semantics to avoid linking Islam and terrorism.

Obama is "an apologist for radical Islamic terrorists," stated Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz in an interview with Fox News' Megyn Kelly. "Why don't we see the president of the United States demonstrating that same courage just to speak the truth about the face of evil we're facing right now?"

We're being witness to a phenominal erosion of our Constitutional rights.  Can you imagine if this was tried in America?  The bedrock to the difference between this country and nearly every other one, is the freedoms we have, as legally covered by our Constitution.

And yet, you have this ongoing assault on out 2nd amendment, using emotion as the whipping the tool.  And as exemplified by what's happening on our College campuses, the assault on our 1st amendment, where a majority millinnials actually support legally restricting speech that they feel is "offensive".  Of course, its speech that only minorities might consider offensive, while it's open season on offensive speech aimed at whites and Christians

Point being, we're letting this happen.  If France wants to close down Religious institutions, based on a legitimate concern for security/safety, that's there call.  That can't happen here, nor should it.  Not as long as this is the America, that so many sacrificed their lives for, in fighting for the freedoms we so embrace, and is the envy of so much of the rest of the globe

We certainly should never get all emotional about some nut attacking us at random in a public place.
We should realize that we must not question the right of some crazed nut to own a gun until he pulls the trigger.

Muslims are evil and we should label them as such, but never deny them the right to practice their evil religion.

You seem conflicted, sirs.

Try to pay attention, Dr Derflection.  No one is claiming we be "emotionless".  The issue is allowing emotion to drive policy & legislation, minus any rational concept to the repercussions.  Especially if such drive is unconstitutional

Nothing conflicting in that concept

If we start to lock them up as the criminals we think they are does this mean we can take thier property for cheap? We have legal precidences

Perhaps this is alright in France.

But I want our government to have very little control of worship.

When someone commits a crime , his religion should not be any mitigation to his punishment, nor any compounding of it either.

But what if a Church or Mosque is guilty of a crime?

There is a case to be made for sanctioning an organization involved in organized crime whether it is a Church or not, but I am not eager to see the government requiring permits and monitoring compliance in congregation.

Lock who up, and on what charge(s), Kimba?

Lock who up, and on what charge(s), Kimba?

"A combination of unapologetic profiling, regular deportation of individuals considered a security threat, and immediate arrest of radical Islamists who preach anti-Western violence have apparently come together in a strikingly successful cocktail of counter-terrorism. As Americans struggle to come to grips with who their real foe is and what to do about it, Italy operates under no illusions. It is the Islamic State's declared, idealistic enemy at war with Christianity and the West, who plots day and night for the demise of its adversary."

Inciting to riot is illegal in the US. I am sure that this also applied to churches.

So, again I have to ask.  Lock up specifically "who", and on what charge(s)?  We already have laws to lock up anyone committing or even planning some mass carnage.  What else can be done that isn't unconstitutional?

For looking /seeming muslim. Not for a crime per se but security reasons. I worded like this due to the fact here in america a person doesnt need to be muslim or arab to be suspect. Just ask a sihk if thats not true

I think most Americans believe Sikhs to be some sort of Muslim.
They are not White, they wear funny clothes and they have strange accents.
And they do not love Jeezus.

I'll grant you Kimba, that its not fair that a vast majority of a goup is getting the raw end of what a minority of their kin are doing.  That said, there will be no law, EVER to lock up anyone that looks any way.  That's tantamount to what the Nazis did to the Jews, and we all know how that ended up

I went further than that and claim to we may lockup non muslims. I actually know people who do not care if the person is not muslim but looks close enough. Basicly saying we are crappy profilers.

Come to think of it do sihks get harrassed outside of the states?

Those people who "don't care" (about our Constitution, and the freedoms associated with it, which includes the freedom of religion) and literally treat someone poorly are themselves a problem to any success in defeating radical Islam

That said, I do fully support profiling.  Not to the point of treating someone unfairly, simply I would keep a more investigative eye on someone who's a young/middle aged looking male, with a complexsion consistent with other Arabs.  I don't care if that's not "politically correct", since its PC that is largely destroying this country.   Same holds true, if I see some suspicious looking fella in a hoody, with low hanging pants, & multiple tattoos, in that I'm going to keep a closer eye on them, than Grandma Frisby, in her power scooter.

Did you read the story about the neighbor to these 2 San Bernadino killers, who saw what they believed to be suspicious behavior, but chose to keep it to themselves for fear of being branded a racist??  I can't imagine how bad they must feel, in believing that had they spoken up, 14 innocent people would have been saved from being murdered
