Most Muslims make no such demands.

I know a number of Muslims and have never heard any of them say this.

It is amazing, that in this country, with this push for "multi-cultural-ism", assimilation is largely dispensed with, secondary to its politically incorrect foundation, and other country's cultures are advocated to the forefront.......every culture, EXCEPT American Culture.  Doesn't that strike everyone as completely bass-ackwards?....here, in America, all cultures are to be embraced and supported....except of course out American Culture, since it apparently offends so many, not of this country

  What American culture?

France has tried to speed assimilation by forbidding the Hijab.

Our cultural traditions require more tolerance.

Tolerance is understood as a virtue in our traditions , in some lands we seem to be tolerating debauchery, so it is not a purely good thing.

But intolerance is plainly a bad thing , it is the cause of many harms.

So toleration of stupidity is one of our finest traditions, ...

It may be undiplomatic to put it that way.

  What American culture?

The one that's espoused by our Constitution, which means it doesn't forbid anything (illegal), but doesn't make embracing what it means to be an American some form racist offense.  Tolerance, yes.  Suppression, no

The one that is the rationale as to what made us a superpower, in such a short period of time, compared to so many other nations, and why so many want to come here, vs those who want to leave

What exactly is American culture? Jazz music, country western music, Broadway musicals, unique ways of celebrating Christmas, Easter, Halloween and other holidays. I don't hear immigrants complaining about any of those things much.

The US became a superpower because it had a lot of real estate with untapped resources, and attracted capital to develop them. I don't think culture in any usual sense had much to do with it.

It's not about "complaining", its about not assimilating.  It's about demanding that their cultures, supersede that of America's.  It's about leftists that accuse anyone of supporting American culture as some how being intolerant, bigoted, & racist, such as when English is advocated as being the designated primary language.  Nothing in that claims no other languages can be spoken, but all the irrational hyperbole you see in response, is just how horrible such an idea is

The U.S. became a superpower because of our freedoms, and how we chose to run our country, based on that.  It's spawned entrepreneurship, investment, and initiative, that did tap our resources.  With very little Government, I might add.  And those who came here to participate in that spawning, whether they were "the rich", or just immigrant poor, came here with the expectation of becoming American, and embracing what it meant to be an American.  NOT, America will bow down to my culture

Very little government?

Surely, you jest.
\I suppose you think that the Louisiana Purchase was made by private Enterprise.
The Indians were driven off the land by --- who was that again?  Cargill?  John Deere?  JP Morgan?

The transcontinental railroads would never have been built without major subsidies from the US government.
The highways, from the Lincoln Highway and the Pennsylvania Turnpike to the Interstates were NOT the product of "small government".

Capitalism will sell you a gallon of drinking water in a jug for 69ยข to a dollar or more.
Municipal water will give you a hundred gallons of equally drinkable water for a penny.

No jest at all.  Little government compared to "no" government, or our current mutation of massive government

It was government that was instrumental in the success of this country. We had only one stupid Civil War. Mexico had at least three major civil conflicts.
Mexico's governments were generally too weak to hold the country together.

You want small government: try Somalia.

No, it wasn't "government" that was instrumental.  It was civilians who OPPOSED GOVERNMENT, as in opposed the Government of England.  That's what brought about this country.  And the successes early on were specific to the parameters layed out in the Constitution, as to what the Government was allowed to do.  Everything else was to be left to the States and their Governments.  We were functioning just fine with a smaller Government, until WWI

So, no, I'll stick with the Small Government that THIS country is supposed to function by, vs the one you leftists try to re-invent, over and over, with all your extra-constitutional garbage

This country was backwards as Hell in 1915. My grandfather was born in 1888, and I remember him talking about harvesting with a scythe, the impassible roads, no electricity or telephones, no indoor plumbing.  People actually starved to death in 1915 in this country. You just believe any crap you read that agrees with your ignorant perspective.

Once again, attempting to misrepresent and infer small Government with "no Government".  No surprise there

YOU are the one that brought up how great this country was before the income tax.
Well, it wasn't.
We were NOT "functioning fine", not even compared with European nations of that period.
