Saudi Prince who insulted Trump feels the burn

The prince must have known who he was dealing with.

Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal attacked Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump Friday for proposing a temporary ban on taking in Muslim refugees.

And he used Trump's favorite medium to do it - Twitter.

The prince tweeted:

"You are a disgrace not only to the GOP but to all America.
Withdraw from the U.S presidential race as you will never win"

Two days later Trump fired back with this embarrassing rejoinder:
@Alwaleed_Talal
"Has your country, Saudi Arabia, taken ANY of the Syrian refugees? If not, why not?"

And Trump's correct.
It turns out that the five wealthiest Persian Gulf nations have refused to accept Syrian refugees,
for security concerns, the very reason Trump is calling for a temporary halt.






Yet amidst cries for Europe to do more, it has transpired that of the five wealthiest countries on the Arabian Peninsula, that is, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain, not one has taken in a single refugee from Syria. Instead, they have argued that accepting large numbers of Syrians is a threat to their safety, as terrorists could be hiding within an influx of people. Sherif Elsayid-Ali, Amnesty International's Head of Refugee and Migrants' Rights, has slammed their inaction as "shameful".


People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, as the saying goes.
Because of the Saudi's refusal to accept Syrian refugees,.

How many refugees has Trump offered to support?

I fail to see any difference between Trump and this worthless prince.

Trump would LIKE to run a country, and that particular  Saudi price does not run a country. Hence the title, "Prince" as opposed to "King".

The Saudi prince is not really addressing Trump, anyway, he is speaking as a prince of a country that likes to be known as the guardian of Islam.

What they have in common is that they are both just blowing hot air. Trump cannot keep Muslims out of the US, and neither could the Saudi prince admit them to his country.

They are bragging about who could bat the ball the farthest, and neither owns a bat ot a ball, so to speak.

Actually, this looks like a good point to discuss.

Even as a president , DJT would not have the constitutional power to exclude a religion from visits or immigration.
But blowing this hot air is scratching an itch that a lot of Americans have , being offended by terrorists that proclaim their terrorism justified by Islam.

That Prince is never going to have a direct vote in our choice of leaders, but his public statements reflect the outrage of his own public at the Insults against Islam, which deserves respect as the ultimate good thing, in spite of a few hotheads getting it wrong.

Now that Saudi Prince might give more money hoping to elect Hillary Clinton, and Trump might actually win the Presidency in spite of Hillary's huge outlay of cash.

But immigration is not really going to change thereby.

The Prince is mostly addressing his own audience here.
If he made this speech in English, he was addressing English speaking Arabs. I assume that his speech was translated or delivered again in Arabic.

The GOP is now the Party of the 3 B's: Biblethumpers, bigots, and billionaires, plus a large number of doltish  Joetheplumber types who think that by supporting billionaires somehow they will be likely to BECOME billionaires. They are no more likely to see this happen than the original Joe the Plumber, now working at a Fiat Chrysler assembly plant, his plan to buy out his boss now abandoned, his $250K annual income yet to be earned.

Trump the Presbyterian questions that Cruz could be an evangelical (Cruz attends both Catholic Mass as well as Southern Baptist services. He was once a Mormon). Trump appeals to the bigots: he thinks the poor earn too much, the Mexicans should be deported, and the Muslims should be barred from  entry and monitored on general principles.
