She's absolutely fed up with politicians.....which is why her endorsement of Trump.  She's always bucked the system, and his politicially incorrect campaign rhetoric is precisely what she admires.  It's not rocket science, and its not about trying to get him to pick her as a VP candidate either

Can a party prevent a candidate from running?

Palin would have to win a primary at least. That means that she would have to convince a plurality of voters to vote for a woman known to simply quit the job she was elected to.

The way you prevent someone from running is by convincing their donors to not donate to their election.
Both parties in the past have prevented candidates from running. They are more sophisticated now in their tactics. Obvioulsy, they will not publically refuse anyone from running.

The GOP canned FL senator  Mel Martinez from its chairmanship, then forced him out of the Senate. They did this by getting some fatcats to hire him as a lobbyist in return for ending his Senate career.

That's not the same as claiming the GOP wouldn't allow her to run.  If she were to run, she'd get a ton of support from Tea party folk and a vast majority of conservatives.  It doesn't require a GOP Establishment endorsement.  Hell, that's exactly why Trump is doing that well.  The GOP establishment hates him, because they can't control him.  Are they "allowing him" to run?

They are clearly trying to prevent him from getting the nomination. If he somehow gets shot by some crazed nut between now and November, I will not be surprised. The CIA has recipes for making crazed nuts.

Again, Palin will never be elected to anything ever again. Her wad has been shot. And of course, she is as ignorant a person who has ever run for office. She is the political equivalent of a Kardassian, famous mostly for being famous.

And also again, Palin not winning any elections, should she choose to run, isn't anywhere near the same as the GOP not allowing her to run, as you originally claimed

Palin lacks the money to launch a campaign. To prevent her from running, all they have to do is to suggest that if they donate money to Palin, things might not go well for them. No one donates major money unless they have a reason to do so, and their reasons mostly are related to money. The best reason to deny her a chance to run is that she cannot win, and her candidacy will be a waste of campaign fund money.

A) She's not running
B) if she where to run, she'd have no problem getting donations.....tons of them
C) is completely irrelevent, since she's not running

And most importantly
D) does nothing to supposedly validate the ignorant claim, that the GOP is in a position to not allow her to run

Palin has some sort campaign fund and has been accepting money from fools for some time now.

I doubt that the GOP will ever have to prevent her from running, as I don't think she will ever run for anything again.

Why don't you ask the GOP if you can run for congressman or senator and see how far you get?

She could easily find a safe Congressional district and win a seat.
But she has no need to spend time in Washington with such crooks Nancy Pelosi & Paul Ryan in the House.
