Leave these guys alone.

Costumes are just good fun in these circumstances.

If it makes a humorous point , that is terrific.

More good humor is better not worse.

As if this tactic is useless to any side.

To counteract, no , is better to co-opt- ---- get Rubio in a selfie with a line of robots.

Humor fights humor best.

Exception being , do not wear anything that looks threatening to a secret service agent, if they wrestle you they will be serious.

I do not think Rubio his followers were amused by the  guys in the robot suits.

But humor might as well be a part of this circus.

The Brits and Canadians have strict limits on the length of the election campaign and how it is financed.  They might even have as much fun.

Too bad, they would look great if they could .

Do you recall when Al Gore told that the Secret Service special name for Al Gore was Al Gore?

That acknowledgement of his own human failings in humor made him look better than all the times that he appeared as a subject matter expert in all subjects.

Al Gore should have been president. We would indisputably have been better off had Cheney and Juniorbush never darkened the door of the White House. We could have saved billions by not mongering that war in Iraq. There is no doubt that far more Iraqis have died as a result than would have had Saddam stayed in power. The Syrian Civil War has been prolonged because the Juniorbush invasion flooded Iraq with weapons and  created a potential army of discontented Sunni military that killed our troops, destabilized the elected government of Iraq, and is now staffing Isis.

Juniorbush/Cheney was the worst possible combination of inept and misguided men that have ever run this country.

Oh it is disputable alright.
Do you suppose that Al Gore would have continued to conduct war against Saddam Hussein on the downlow the way that Bill Clinton did for eight years?
Do you suppose that Saddam would have failed to hit any of our planes for sixteen straight years?

The point is that the war and the immense expense of the war would have been avoided. A downed plane or pilot or two is not much compared to the thousands that got killed as a result of Juniorbush's and Cheney's incompetent warmongering.

Gore was the guy Americans actually preferred. It was the idiotic Electoral College that put Juniorbush in office. Gore got more votes.

When the margin of error is larger than the margin of victory then there is nothing unfair about a coin flip to settle the question.

You do not really know that Gore got more votes , most of the country was just not that careful .

Only in Florida where the votes were recounted with ridiculous care can we be confident that Bush made the margin, barely.

While that recount was being conducted I longed for a nation more sophisticated in mathematics such that the term "margin of error" could be truly understood, and that a randomized result could be thought fair.

Yes I would have liked a coin flip rather than the chad interpretation and interpolation of half erased marks and second guessing of butterfly ballots.

By dint of scientific polling Al Gore got so nearly half of our votes and George Bush got so nearly half of our votes that the margin of error swallows the difference like a twelve pound sow bass swallows a minnow.

By the way , in that election , the candidate that seemed robotic was Al Gore.

Gore got more votes. He h=just did not get them in the right places.
and virtually NONE of those who voted for Nader wanted to have anything to do with Juniorbush & Cheney.

virtually NONE of those who voted for Nader wanted to have anything to do with Juniorbush & Cheney.

Pretty much the same could be said for those who voted for Perot, not wanting anything to do with Clinton & Clinton

People who voted for Nader were deciding for one reason or another not to vote for Gore.

Perhaps a few harbored hope that Nader would be elected , but most probably were more realistic.

Voting for Nader was a way to express disapproval for both candidates otherwise yet still be counted as a voter.

A lot of these votes would have just stayed home without Nader.

I know people who voted for Nader. They abhorred both Olebush and Juniorbush.

The people I know who voted  Nader that I know were upset over all the money they were spending on the military and wanted single payer health care.

Then they voted well.

Party politics are not protected by our constitution, officially an independent that gets a lot of votes is just as elected as any party stalwart.

This does not happen a lot because a Party is a good way to organize a lot of effort and expenses.

And party platforms are a good thing to present to the public.

When neither party is really presenting to the public an inspiring leader nor a positive platform, it isn't wrong for the voter to vote a spanking .

Party platforms mostly window dressing. They show the basic direction of the administration at best.
Some of the planks are just for show:
The Bricker Amendment, the move the US Embassy to Jerusalem, for example.
