This is the sort of thing that makes American films so popular in China and India. No annoying dialog to not understand. No subtitles to read, just amazing action.

In real life, the guy would have taken a run at the door made a flying leap and landed on his ass.  This is another of those things where the bad guys can't even wing the good guy, and the Good Guy never misses.

 Yes.

A gun is a potent weapon , but it does not make a superman.


Those Japanese samurai movies where a single swordsman takes on a city full of ninja are of the same ilk.

I have observed that no one in any film I have seen ever gets killed by a throwing star. Throwing stars only come close.

  An author wants a good story more than he wants a manual for the use of a particular weapon.
   A thrown blade could be very harmful, but you would not want your fight scene to be too short.

They could at least WOUND the lead character with a throwing star.

I don't think any lead actors even get wounded.

Action films and horror flicks are not my favorites, and I make little effort to watch them all.
