Yes , pretty .

Worth the price?

Not to me , I would just as soon have a meteorite un-modified and a pistol made with scandium.

There is one born every minute.  I am sure they will make a bundle on this.  The ideal gun for saps that pay 90K for the notoriously unreliable Range Rovers.

There is a line somewhere at which the thing is less a tool or weapon and becomes more a work of art.

The dollar value of this work of art could buy a thousand more practical guns.

I think you have to have a romantic notion about the art, and too much money.

Guns are tools, as you say.

I fail to see why you think I have demonstrated any romantic notions here,

My apologies .
I can see how you might see "you" as meaning you.

But I didn't mean to direct this at you.
If "you" is understood more generically, then this is a statement directed twards the prospective buyer.
Which person is definitely not you!

I should have said that to buy this one must have a romantic notion twards this gun and value the art of it above all utility.

This ambiguity is my fault.

I would prefer an artistic table lamp or footstool to an artistic gun.

I rather like steam punk keyboards, but not enough to actually buy one.

I found a Microsoft ergonomic keyboard of the type you plug in that does not require batteries last Saturday at a yard sale for two bucks. I loaded the software, and it works fine. The previous owner said that her new computer came with a wireless version and that this one did not work with it. For $2 who was I to argue?

My previous keyboard has three letters worn off: a. e and s.

Widmanstätten pattern is good looking, but it would be a good looking lamp or bookend.
I think I do prefer a utilitarian weapon, or tool.

I find it amusing that the car magazines go ape over "carbon fiber" parts. True, they are light and strong, but not particularly beautiful as a rule.. Essentially, they are carbon strands stuck together with "resin" which is just a fancy name for plastic.

I can't see paying $20K more for a car because of it having a carbon fiber hood or trunk lid. But to each his own,

Carbon fiber prices are bound to come down, as the technology matures and the equipment becomes more common.

Then making all of our Cars , Trucks and aircraft lighter, will pay back.

I think this is already in progress.

I don't think I am opposed to carbon fiber. Just to paying $20K extra for it.

I bet steel and aluminum are easier to recycle.

Yes Steel and aluminum are easily recycled but Fiberglass or Carbon fiber reinforced plastic are not recycled at all.

However , if a vehicle is made significantly lighter , it takes less fuel to get it up to speed, so there is an environmental benefit .

Then when it is scrapped, it goes into Mt Trashmore.

We shall see what happens, So far, it is too expensive. I do not know why.
