Mt. Rushmore committee
« on: April 24, 2016, 02:32:06 AM »
Heard one, made up one .

Join in!

A committee of Hillary Clinton admirers was gathering funds to have her added to Mount Rushmore , ....
.... They had to quit because Mt Rushmore does not have room for two more faces.

A committee of Donald Trump admirers was petitioning the Donald for monies to add his visage to Mt. Rushmore, The Donald turned them down , but suggested that they start a program to carve Mt. Everest instead of Mt, Rushmore.....

.......So that the Trump head could be closer to life size.

Plane...Mt. Everest might be best for Hillary so they could fit that hideous extra-large pant suit in a life size version!

Jefferson was a Democrat. A Democratic Republican. He was not one of those common fools that run about saying, "This country is not a democracy: it is a Republic".   IT is, in fact, both. Republic means we have no hereditary monarch,

Theodore Roosevelt LEFT the Republican Party because they were sold out to the trusts and oligarchs. He called his new party the PROGRESSIVE party.

Neither Congress nor the people ever decided who would be sculpted on Mt Rushmore. That was decided by this guy:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gutzon_Borglum

By the way, "President Rushmore" is not commemorated on Mount Rushmore.
Really stupid people often think this is the case, but , no.
There never has been a President Rushmore.
I realize that this silly post was plagiarized from some other website, so it indicated laziness as much as ignorance.
FDR was the Democrat presiding over the rather small federal funds that supported Mt Rushmore. Lots more money was raised by donations. It was begun as a private tourist attraction.  FDR was quite fond of his  relative, Theodore, who was a close relative of FDR's wife,  Eleanor.

The Roosevelts really were fond of one another, regardless of political affiliation.

Jefferson was a Democrat.

Thomas Jefferson was not a member of the Democrat Party.

Two members of Mt. Rushmore were members of the Republican Party.

Two other members were not members of the Democratic or Republican Party.

Thus it is a fact that there are ZERO members of the Democratic Party on Mt. Rushmore
and there are two members that served as President while in the Republican Party and are on Mt. Rushmore.

Gutzon Borglum decided all by his lonesome whom to put on Mt Rushmore.
Watch CU4 defend his silly plagiarism. How droll!

It was not decided by the people.

It was not decided by the Congress.

It certainly appealed greatly to the Democrat in the White House at the time and to the people who elected him an unprecedented FOUR TIMES.

Teddy Roosevelt was not noted in 1933 for being a Republican. He was best noted for telling the Republican Party to take a proverbial flying F*ck at a rolling doughnut.

Wilson was elected in 1912 because he was far more racist and appealed to the Southern Democrats, who were lily-white. TR actually allowed Booker T Washington to enter the White House through the FRONT DOOR. Wilson was elected because he would never have done that.

By the way.
What is Bill Clinton's middle name?

William  Taft Clinton? William Hoover Clinton?  William Dole Clinton?

No

William J _ _ _ _  _ _ _ N Clinton.

Gutzon Borglum decided all by his lonesome whom to put on Mt Rushmore.

Mt. Rushmore was a Congressional approved project and it is a US National Memorial
under the jurisdiction of the US National Park Service.

It was begun as a PRIVATE project as anyone with the sense to read the goddamned Wikipedia on the subject.

Borglum decided which presidents  would be on it from the git-go.  It was originally conceived as a tourist attraction by Borglum. Congress was quite reluctant until Borglum died. He was a difficult and obsessed man and only when died and his son took over did the government take charge.

By the way, is carving up a mountain in nowheresville an example of the "smaller government" that you claim your worship? Can you explain how this monument is an example of capitalistic values, free enterprise and  smaller government?

I have no problems with Mt Rushmore, but it was a terrible business plan from the beginning. How do you charge admission for people to look at a huge carved mountain?  It was less awful as a national monument, but it was not originally planned to become a national park.

There is a PBS special on the project that swill cure your abysmal ignorance about this.

Watch this or remain ignorant: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOIYfaSWOMQ

Shit man, you copy some  stupid  oneliner shit from a rightwing website and then you want to roll in it, like a goofy dog.

It is true that there might be a weasel shortage if Mt Everest was carved to resemble Trump. I don't think the Nepalese would permit this.

It was begun as a PRIVATE project as anyone with the sense to read the goddamned Wikipedia on the subject.

That's like saying someone thought of going to the moon
and thus Apollo 11 was a "private project"....NONSENSE.

It was a US Government funded project....period!

Borglum decided which presidents would be on it from the git-go.

That's silly.
A US Funded national treasure is not going to be left up to a rock buster to decide who's faces.
President Coolidge made sure who was depicted on Mt. Rushmore not some rock buster named Borglum
and Congressional approval was forthcoming.

It was originally conceived as a tourist attraction by Borglum.

Wrong again.

The idea behind Mt. Rushmore was originally conceived by South Dakota historian Doane Robinson.

Borglum was the guy without whom there would have been no Mt Rushmore,. Stop writhing in you ignorance and watch the goddamned  documentary,

Borglum was not any common rock buster and he did nothing on commands from anyone else. The US government was not called upon until Borglum saw that he could not complete it in ant other way,

The facts are what they are....obviously you don't accept facts even when presented to you.

But any how....your comments are distractions, spin, and BS about "who thought of which idea......blah blah".

The simple fact is Republican Party Presidents are on the face of Mt. Rushmore this morning & no Democrat Party Presidents are.

Is that "some earth shattering" fact?....No....but it is a fact no matter how much distraction you want to create to muddy that truth.

All the facts are in that documentary that I graciously provided you with, "Christians"
But you prefer ignorance, as always.

Rejoice in your towering ignorance.
Frolic in your stubborn stupidity!

Mt Rushmore is not a political symbol.
