i have a fatal condition and eventually need surgury to address it. so I can`t half ass on my healthcare. ironiclly before obama care changed the laws . I believe I had no healthcare options to fix this. I`m actually one of those people the opposition say just can`t be helped .
a very polite life sucks and then you die
I can definitely empathize with you Kimba, but at the same time, you're kinda helping to make Plane's point.....the simpler any legislation, the easier it would be to target issues related to your needs. What we have instead, is a bureaucratic nightmare, and guess who gets the short end of the stick??.....the middle class taxpayers, and everyone sentenced to abide by the Obamacare parameters.
And they just keep getting worse. Not only are premiums STILL going up, despite the promises they would come down. Not only are you not able to keep your Doctor or Insurance plan, if you liked them, despite what was promised. The latest-greatest imposition coming down the pike is that for any pt with a specific diagnosis, such as a total knee replacement, the hospital is to receive 1 lump sum....for everything (the surgery, the hospital stay, the payment for all those providing the direct care, as well as any Home Health, and/or out-patient services). And if the Hospital in question, goes over that amount, they're actually fined. But if we get the patient out toot-sweet, the hospital gets a "bonus". In other words, the incentive being pushed by Obamacare is to discharge that patient as soon as possible, and screw safety or pain management. Get them under your lump sum, and get a bonus. BUT, take too long because you're trying to manage their pain, or they have complications that require more intensive post-op issues, and you actually will get fined for daring to care for the patient. That's the monstrosity currently running our healthcare system
And people wonder why a majority of the country STILL don't like Obamacare
