That is not the purpose, it is to defang all fatcats who buy candidates.
Corporations are not people. They should not be able to donate money like people. The Supremes failed to recognize this and an amendment is therefore needed.

So how are corporations not people?

Is there a corporation of horses?

Are political parties people , or is there a dog party out there?

Do newspapers and TV stations , which are corporations mostly, have a first amendment right?

Churches are people even organizations of atheists are people.

The Supreme court is right, votes are for individuals and there is no corporate right or racial right to vote, but the exercise of freedom of speech , religion do require organized effort of people.

Corporations are not people in every fucking way imaginable.
But they are potentially immortal, one of the worst ways of all.

You really want a country in which corporations BUY public office?
Really!

Actually I would like to have a country in which it was easy to see who was giving the campaign funds.

An advertisement would have to be really terrific to overcome being paid for bythe government of China.

By the way the government of China is people too.

Would you say that the nearly immortal Democratic Party is not people?
