The people who manage agrobusiness do not live on the farms where crops are grown.

This is one of the objectionable results of the death tax.

There are still farms , and there are still farmers on these farms, but they do not own the farm their grandfathers built , every generation that has passed has given the government a chance to convert this land to cash and demand the cash.

Urbanites do not care that maintaining a farming family tradition is very difficult and becoming more so.

Only a small fraction of  those who would owe an inheritance tax are farmers, and the starting point of the inheritance tax begins at assets OVER ELEVEN MILLION DOLLARS. There is no requirement that people sell anything to pay the tax, anyway. If you have $11,000,000 in assets, borrowing against them is not going to present a major hardship, anyway.

I fail to understand why the 98% of the people of this country should be opposed to an inheritance tax thar will never affect them in the slightest.

  At this point yes.

Most of the confiscation of these farms happened while the threshold was much lower.

Are you sure about that figure now?

The destruction of the family farming tradition is pretty well accomplished , the confiscation of small business assets continues .

Most Americans oppose these confiscations  because they are an obvious bad idea. Many thousands uf us would still be on farm if it were possible.
