I cant really condemn colin k
« on: August 31, 2016, 12:28:32 PM »
When he refuse the anthem my first thought was did he get stopped by the police and dang it he was.
People say if that happen accept it and never complain . Hes one of the most visible players around and quite boring personality wise. Is it any wonder he hit his limit.

Will smith, levar burton gets stopped. Levar even gives safety tips on how not to get shot. Lets just say it really doesnt look equally safer for moniors.

I dont much agree with BLM but these police stops are giving them strength. They just sit back and wait for the police to keep doing what they do

This is actually pretty simple for me....he has EVERY right to critique or condemn this country, in any way he choses, so long as it doesn't infringe on anyone else's rights.  That said, he has no right not to be the target of all manner of rhetorical repercussions, be it burning his jersey, or even losing endorsements

Not saying he should not lose his financial future but pointing out what hes willing to lose . I think hes might be relieved. He never gave the impression he had a easy career. Every action he took was highly critisized. His commercials pointed that out unlike other player he's likely saved his money and can stop completely anyway

Endorsements aren't the same as his job.

Very doubtful he doesnt know that. He was never a likeable person before this so he's probly not gonna get much more flak from this.

I have to doubt that......his latest attempt to defend his stance, in claiming that beuticians & hardressers go thru longer, more extensive training in carring a curling iron, than the police do in carrying a gun.  You can't get much more ignorant than that.  Good freind of mine, who spent 2 tours in the military, and now has a helicopter license, attempted to go thru the police academy, to become a police officer.  While he breezed thru the massive amount of studying and paper testing, as well as firearms proficiency, the physical portion was brutal.  So much so, he couldn't pass.  I could bet my house that no hairdresser would have been able to pass thru the police academy

I agree that he has an absolute right to remain seated.
However, this is a useless way to protest.
If he were protesting a specific action, such as turning someone he thinks was improperly arrested feed, or improved medical care for concussion victims, it might make sense. But to protest something as vague as racism through the ages will produce no results.

It is juvenile, like threatening to hold his breath until no White folks ever called a Black man "boy", well, that is just dumb.

He has a constitutional right to protest. The 49ers are not constitutionally obliged to keep him on the payroll. He is a mere entertainer. not the Defender of Truth, Justice and the American Way as it should be.

I wouldn't go so far as losing his job for exercising his 1st amendment right, but the rest is pretty much spot on

I did not say that I would fire him, but again, he is an entertainer, and if the owners think that he is hurting their very profitable business, they have every right to fire him. I am not an owner of the 49'ers, nor would I ever waste my time watching any NFL game.

His protest is not directed in any way that could result in less racism.

Are you saying that anyone exercising their 1st amendment right, that happens to be hurting profits, can be fired?  Really?

Completely irrelevent

Point being, Colin is blurring the 2, as if one is trained harder & longer, than the other

Wow
Beautician 1500hr training

Police 916 hr training

St louis

Colin would get fire for multiple reasons other than his protest. Nfl has serious issue with out of control players and has a very bad rep of not being able to fite its player and this incident needs to be addressed greatly to show really whose in charge. The anthemn is way too out of line for then

I seriously have to redirect the notion as to the type of training, and the quality of that training

Actually the beautician field has huge failure rate. Scarey huge . Police shortage is more political than talent shortage.

Again a apple orange issue very rare we get crossover in these fields . I doubt we get many undercover officers being hair dressers. That go south fast
