Pitchfork in three years or less

With trump as president businesses will get alot of breaks and normally those resources will be used on the businesses and very little on increasing labor. Of course we will see a notable increase in propsperity at the start but if this does not maintain later on I see some serious backlash. Tensions has been growing for over a decade and businesses not the president will be the focus. Minimum wage just the proof how bad businesses do not understand where they stand. I'm just stating something from a ted talk which a billionaire whose talent is market trend states if you don't address peoples needs pitchforks are coming.

I personally believe the pitchforks scenerio was how trump became president but he better stepup or he'll be the 1st on the wall

a significant factor driving down wages for Americans is an uncontrolled influx of poor, uneducated, needy, unemployed, polluting, infrastructure straining,  immigrants willing to work for shit wages.....

Americans are out of work....but we kept allowing tons of illegal people come in that want jobs....does that make any sense?

Not enough jobs....but some how it's logical to let more and more unemployed people in?

kimba1:
not at all
the significant reason wages are down is employers do not want to pay more. in this forum we have people who does not want minimum wages to go up and not once has immigration legal or otherwise has been brought up. illegals is just a very public easy target. I`m not saying low wage workers is not a factor but it`s not a primary factor.

note I`ll add another factor that is not about wages is housing which nationwide is too high. all the other expenses is abit tough but housing is simply out of control.

I`ll bet the native residence of texas are not saying housing is affordable anymore.

Christians4LessGvt:
housing is very affordable in Texas
people that move here are shocked
the list could go on and on and on in all price ranges...low, med, high

almost always....the market determines wages...not the company
if i don't offer health insurance my good employees would leave
i don't offer it because I'm a nice guy, I offer it because the market tells me I better or else lose good people
i don't provide free company lunches often because i'm a nice guy, I do it because I want my people happy
i don't provide a really nice Company Christmas Party because I'm a nice guy, I do it because I want my people happy
i don't pay above industry standards because I am generous, I do it to retain good people, it makes MY life easier
remember the "golden rule" isn't "treat people nice because you're nice"
the golden rule is "treat people the way YOU want to be treated"

kimba1:
But do people in Texas find those prices reasonable.?

I do not say you do not treat your employees well or that it helps retain them. But you can't say your fellow businessmen does the same. What you offer is not exactly common. Walmart is famous for not doing it and now actually having a hard time convince to bother applying. The real problem today is job reputation. A lot if People today think  all minimum wage jobs are beneath them to such a degree it's not a job but a hobby for Pocket change wages.not even considered difficult.  Example people think cashier is a useless job to be replaced by computers. Which is going to happen
