I just chaulk it up to underestimating the enemy. that`s how 9-11 happened the enemy expected to the U.S. to shut down and not fightback. One of the strangest thing about people in general is they tend to think they know everything about any group of people and how they will respond. Thew world is more complex and carrying a big stick will not stop you from getting a bloody nose anymore.

I don't think Korea has changed much, the leadership is exactly the same as sixty years ago.

I suspect some collusion between China and North Korea, this might be a way to find out how the US, Japan and South Korea respond to threats.

China wants to make a real estate grab out of the ocean , weirdly willing to kill off a lot of the fishing to make it happen.

North Korea is making a play at reducing the American presence by waving a new stick, hoping we count them crazy enough to forget that everything they do to us we can do to them five times over.

Perhaps this is just worth a try, China and North Korea can both back down or can try to make some trade in the deal, they don't need to back down until the fuse is very short, so why not test our nerve ?

i never thought N.Korea is that connected to china. It`s more like having a violently crazed relative that your obligated to deal with but keeps your distant and hope he doesn`t drink too much anti-freeze.

North Korea is very dependent on China.

Perhaps China wants a crazy Dog in their Junkyard?

Technically the United States is still at war with north korea so this might be alot more sensitive a situation than we think.

Trump is a second runner up to Kim Jung Un when it comes to craving attention.

I think we should sign a peace treaty with the Norks . If they and the South want to unify that is up to them. If the South wants our help if the North violates the treaty i am ok with that. In the end it could open up new export and labor markets.
