This is surely A GOOD THING!
Undoubtedly.
However, I dislike the way it's been portrayed. In reality, the school has not sponsored proms previously - they were done by parents as private affairs. While no one said that proms were "whites only" or "blacks only" it tended to work out that way, as people went to the proms that their friends went to and people typically make friends within their own race.
However, the prom
should be sponsored by the school, and it
should be open to all students.
