Of course, that is the states themselves. Individuals are a different thing, entirely.

There won't be a Civil War in the United States because that would involve getting people up off of their asses and actually caring enough about something to take some sort of action.While I do agree that Americans are wholly apathetic and numb, I am less inclined to think that some that "care" about their views won't become violent. The only concern at that point is that while the right still has its point of rally-the church-the left has no collective group to support themselves(gay activists excepted).
