bay to breakers
« on: May 21, 2007, 04:08:20 PM »
I was at the bay to breakers(a local running event)
I will never in my life be able to run as fast as a kenyan
this might sound racist, but those guys are speed and grace incarnate.
this is proof somethings are beyound reach
running faster than a kenyan is one of them.
I hear stories no american has ever ran a kenyan race, because americans are not good enough.
I totally believe it.

While Kenyans do well in the Olympic running events, there are other countries that are competitive with them.

I had lived at 7000 feet for 17 years, then went down to 5000 ft., then up to wherever Taos is---it's above 7000, I think. I got pretty sick, and the locals called it altitude sickness.
Of course, not eating well might have had something to do with it....

Anyway, I think it takes a while to acclimatize yourself.
