The reality is that most of the intel comes from tribal sources who are sick of AQ.

So?

al-Qaeda is a side show in Iraq. A nuisance. They need to be wiped out, sure. Yet, in terms of the real problems we face in that country they don't amount to much.
I smell something burning, hope it's just my brains.
They're only dropping peppermints and daisy-chains
So stuff my nose with garlic
   Coat my eyes with butter
   Fill my ears with silver
   Stick my legs in plaster
   Tell me lies about Vietnam.

<<The reality is that most of the intel comes from tribal sources who are sick of AQ.>>

Sick of al Qaeda they may well be.  In fact as secular Ba'athists they may have been sick of them from birth.  But I'd love to see how THAT translates into love of the American invaders who are telling them they have to submit to a one-man-one-vote charade which will just strip them of their power and transfer it to the Shi'ites.

Typical of the right-wing fanatic, BT takes everything at face value when he isn't ignoring it completely and swallows whatever ludicrous interpretation the directors of this criminal aggression see fit to put upon it.

I'm not so sure the villagers in question would agree.

And i don't recall saying AQ was the only problem in Iraq, so I'm curious why you are responding like i did.

Then I am unsure as to what the point is exactly.

Yes, al-Qaeda are horribly disgusting. We knew that already, didn't we? And there's really no reason for those villager to be grateful to the American military because al-Qaeda would not have destroyed their village and massacred the people in it before we invaded Iraq, correct?

So, I'm at a loss as to what the point is.

Don't recall saying the villagers should be grateful to US troops either. Frankly i'm not sure if dead villagers can feel that emotion.

So what is the point?

Grant it, it is a terrible tragedy. I understand the emotional aspect of it. Yet, these sort of things have happened countless times in villages across the world and have never merited even a brief mention.

So what is it?

There is no point JS.

We should give AQ the nobel peace prize for community service.

Since when do you have to say something for someone else to argue against that point.

A simple upwards perusal of this thread should show that isn't how things work in here.

Well, no offense was meant.

Also, I'm being hypocritical by suggesting that people should be more aware of these type of situations when they happen throughout the world, but not in Iraq.

Of course, Al-Qaeda should pay for this crime against humanity. I certainly hope that our military (or the Iraqis) can find those responsible.

I pray every day that this violence will end.

On that we agree.

I'm ROTFLMFAO.  The two guys most vocal in their support for the group of criminals who started this war are now "praying every day" "for the violence to end."  Totally hilarious.

Fuck "Debategate," this place oughtta be called Comedy Central.

I ponder how conservatives can get away with saying the most outrageous and ludicrous bullshit, and I think the answer is that in addition to knowing less than nothing of the world around them, they are totally devoid of the ability to see themselves and their absurdities through the eyes of sane and normal human beings.  So they come up with this crap.  But thanks, guys, it's a cold hard world out there, and everyone can use a good laugh.
