I think the one indisputable reality here is the rise of Persian power since the invasion of Iraq. What happens next is really a mystery. There are lots of possibilities. I don't see any that are going to be good for the U.S.A. Whoever they try to suck up to will be somebody who already hates their fucking guts. They're like a Hatfield who wandered into the midst of a McCoy blood feud.
