With a relatively small number of actives, the force is easily replenished from upcoming generations of pissed-off Muslims who see no alternative to taking on the Great Satan and dying in order to bring one or two of his agents along with them into the next world. They've got a lot more stomach for the fight than most Americans do. They can stay in it a lot longer. What option do they have? They can't go home because the Americans are in their living room.
