Drawings of guns don't kill people, people who draw pictures of guns kill people.
Your reality, sir, is lies and balderdash and I'm delighted to say that I have no grasp of it whatsoever.

It makes a diffrence whether  the drawing was intended as art or a threat.

Was it a drawing of the teacher being shot?

Or was it an illistration of the blunderbus he had won on World of Warcraft the previous evening?

I agree with Lanya , this is just a part of the story.

I was listening to the mother of this student on the radio yesterday.  She only has her son's side of the story, since apparently the school officials aren't providing her any details, outside of what's been reported in the news.  Per the mother, her son doesn't have any violent trends, doesn't wear trenchcoats, isn't a loner or goth member hanging around the same.  It wasn't even a gun he drew, but apparently he was doodling that of a ray gun, on his assginment he was to turn in, having watched some sci fi show/movie recently, and thought nothing more of it.  There was no messages of doom, no drawsings of any bodies being shot. The teacher never contacted the mother, never arranged for any meetings, never asked if there was any history of said "drawings"

He's a boy....MOST boys draw things like that.  I used to draw things like that when I was a kid.  It's called BEING A KID, but political correctness doesn't allow for that any longer either.  THAT's the real story here, IMHO      >:(

Don't anyone draw a videocamera, they'll flip out over that. That's what this reminded me of.
This may spur the kid to be an ACLU lawyer.
There's always a bright side.  Well, not always, but I hope there is one in this case. Maybe he'll sell his story for millions.
Maybe he'll graduate...OK, I'll stop...

Damn, I would probably never finish school these days. I drew guns all the time. And mushroom clouds. And wrote papers on things like cleaning and firing the M1 rifle, Colt M1911 pistol, home chemistry (stuff that goes boom) and plant poisons.

uhm I would of been in jail at that age if i went to school.
I know I would of try to make bombs out of data from library book
sulfer,charcoal and saltpeter
the trick is figuring out where to get saltpeter
and how much of each
star trek and daniel boone gave that info also
drawing was the last thing from my mind
honestly
I think drawing guns is normal
now graphic gore
NO!
a few ok
but not like a binder full
heavy metal cool
but I find them very boring people

Urine.

and how much of each

Varies depending on use; common one: 75% potassium nitrate (saltpeter), 15% softwood charcoal and 10% sulfur

Bat guano is better if a large volume is needed , the Confederacy mined caves all over the South East  , they also collected nightsoil in cities  and cattle manure off ranches . A large gunpowder plant turned out first rate Gunpowder in Columbus Georgia.

Yup. Or horse manure if horses are available.

But keeping your own urine for a year will also yield a fairly large amount. This is also a source for natural ammonia - and this is how wool originally had the lanolin and other impurities stripped off of it.
