We can't expel 12,000,000 people, no matter how criminal they are. Most of them just want a better life, after all, and are not dangerous to the rest of us. It is also true that they tend to lower salaries for any industry in which they work.
We need to get a much better control on whom we let in. A wall and electronic sensors should help a lot, as should beefing up the Migra.
Keeping more illegals out requires a lot less effort and expense than deporting those who are already here, and those who are sneaking in today have far less influence than those who have been here a while. Plus, they are less qualified, since they have less experience as a rule.
We should make it possible for those who are truly useful to become citizens. I would define this as geting a college degree, mechanic's certification, trade school diplomas and such things like that that are verifyable.
