The Firewall remains Texas & Ohio. Can anyone say "Remember the Alamo"?
==================================================================
Does anyone remember who WON the battle of the Alamo?
Obama will probably carry most of Houston and parts of Dallas and maybe Arlington and Ft. Worth.
Clinton will probably carry the border, El Paso San Antonio. I imagine that whoever carries the mostly White cities (like Amarillo, the oil patch cities of Big Spring, Odessa and Midland and such) will most likely carry the state. I think Clinton is likely to carry the state.
I am not really familiar with Ohio enough to say.
The rightwing plan is to get Obama the nomination and then bring up all this assorted Muslim affiliation, Farrakhan lover, and such against him in the traditional Swiftboat fashion.
Obama has hope.
McCain has fear.
Will hope trump fear or vice versa? It's sort of a paper-stone-scissors Rochambeau thing, really.
When people elected Juniorbush and Cheney, tow oilmen, what we got was a ghastly rise in the price of gas and oil.
If they elect McCain, a military man, what they will get is war, war and more war.
Not that McCain was all that great a trooper. He bombed defenseless Vietnamese and got shot down after a few runs. He did not win the war, nor did he do anything dishonorable, but his heroism did not change the outcome of the war by even one teensy bit. Plus, he is older than even doddering old Reagan. The presidency tends to age a man about ten years more than the four year term. After two terms, McCain could be 98 in "president years".
