Brass, I've been there a number of times, but I've never stayed in a hotel. Maybe someone else here has. If not I might know some people who know.
I smell something burning, hope it's just my brains.
They're only dropping peppermints and daisy-chains
So stuff my nose with garlic
   Coat my eyes with butter
   Fill my ears with silver
   Stick my legs in plaster
   Tell me lies about Vietnam.

I've looked online to find some place but the only place that was what I really wanted was already booked apparently.  I'm looking for some kind of personal recommendation since online help has been sort of sparce.

Thanks, JS.

If you're going to Chattanooga, you have to stay at the Chattanooga Choo Choo Holiday Inn. My wife and I stayed there over a weekend once and it was great. Stay in a rail car! It's terrific.

I looked at those, Rich.  Just curious though, is it more "family-oriented"?  It looks very nice but I have an impression of it being more family/tourist'y.  Not that there's anything wrong with that, just not what I'm looking for this time.

Please tell me if I've misjudged from the pics.

I don't know, I guess you could say it's family oriented. It is touristy, afterall, it's the whole Chattanooga Choo Choo thing, but it was a beautiful place with all the amenities you would expect from a four star hotel. We liked it, but I guess we were tourists.

I'm gonna re-check it out.

Chattanooga Choo-Choo. Some guy  who has probably never been to Chattanooga in his life writes a song, and it becomes a tourist attraction. In Europe, the virgin appears and we get the same thing.

Chattanooga is not famous for trains anymore. I don't think anywhere is.

There is a Suwanee River State Park in Florida. Stephen Foster liked Suwanee because it had three smooth syllables. The boat
ride in the park is a lot of fun.

Chattanooga has really congested rush hours in the afternoons. I pulled into a Waffle House and read a book for an hour to avoid it.

"Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana."

Looks nice.

I should tell you that one of the reasons we stayed at the Holiday Inn is that railroads are near and dear to our family. My wife works for one.

Have fun in Chattanoga. If you pass by Spring Hill TN, wave. I used to live there.

So, then, has anyone been to the Storybook Forest in Penn.? We used to frequent the "forest" as kids when we would visit our grandmother in Johnstown.,

Forget the book...the forest is a better read. ha!

Actually, when it comes to trains an things....We have a great old train ride here in the southwest in an through Durango, Colo.
