Elite IDF unit kills Islamic Jihad commander in Gaza

Troops from the elite Egoz unit killed an Islamic Jihad commander in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday night. The army said that he was one of the terror group's leaders in Gaza City, Israel Radio reported.

In addition, three Palestinian gunmen were killed in clashes with IDF troops in central Gaza, Palestinians reported.

Eyewitnesses said that about 25 armored vehicles entered Gaza through Kissufim Crossing. The soldiers arrested two Islamic Jihad terrorists and pulled out two hours after the incursion, they said.

Defense officials said it was a "pinpoint" operation in Khan Yunis aimed at Gaza terrorists. The IDF confirmed that the operation was over.

The witnesses said that during the clashes, IDF tanks fired shells and attack helicopters fired missiles.

Palestinian medical officials also said a one-month-old baby girl was killed by a ricocheting bullet. Also, eight gunmen and three civilians were wounded, none of then seriously, the officials said.

On Tuesday morning, two Palestinian gunmen were killed in two separate air strikes as the IAF targeted Gaza rocket launching cells, Palestinian sources reported. Four other operatives were wounded in the attacks, the sources said.

The air strikes came moments after an elderly couple's Sderot home was heavily damaged by a rocket. Fortunately, the two were out of the city at the time. Despite claims by Palestinian sources that one member of the Kassam rocket squad killed in the air strikes was a Hamas member, the Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack.

Days into the heavy Kassam rocket barrages that have pummeled the city since last Wednesday, the couple, Shlomo and Alice Gigi, both in their seventies, had on Sunday decided to take a vacation after refusing to do so for years. "They said 'how will it help us? In the end we'll go back to our reality," their son Motti told Army Radio. However, earlier this week the two were convinced to spend a few days at Motti's home in Givataim.

Seven more Kassams fired from Gaza hit the western Negev Tuesday. One of the rockets struck the Ashkelon Beach region while the other hit an open area south of the city. The other rockets landed in open areas in the western Negev. No one was wounded and no damage was reported.

XO got it right away.  The anti-Semitic right-wing militia movements believe that the Jews have already taken over the U.S. Government.  ZOG, which I thought meant Zionist Occupation Government, is their standard acronym symbolizing the secret takeover.  See the film "Betrayed" with Debra Winger and also the anti-Semitic classic, "The Turner Diaries," found in Tim McVeigh's pickup.  A Star of David slithering off and on Old Glory would be a dramatic way of representing that myth.

The U.S. really shouldn't be "united" with any foreign power.  Wasn't it Washington who advised against foreign entanglements?  Why WOULD the U.S.A. tie its own destiny to that of Israel, and how would it benefit the vast non-Zionist majority of American citizens?

The best allies of the USA are Canada and Mexico, followed by the UK.
Israel should be around 35th, somewhere after El Salvador, but before Paraguay. The US sends vastly more money and aid to Israel that any benefits is has ever derived from it. It is a pretty sure thing that the US would never have invaded Iraq had it not been near Israel. Now we hear how invading Iran is absolutely essential to US defense, when Iran is not any sort of threat to the US.

I doubt that Iran would try to take over Israel, either, but I would imagine that an attack by Israelis on Iran would provoke at least some reponse.

I have seen ZOG as both the Zionist Overlord Government, and the Zionist Occupation Government in right wing militia websites and publications.

Ironically, Richie seems to be fond of the flag of Ireland, a nation which was invaded by the British and occupied by them for about 400 years. The PLO has a lot in common with the Irish Republican Army, driving an oppressor from the lands.
 
They realized, like the PLO and Hamas, that they had the strength of numbers and international sympathy and they did not give up untoil Ireland won its independence from the British in 1926.
