Where I work there are annual and surprise inspections , Inspectors represent the GAO or the DOD or whatever agency is looking for us to to streighten up .


Recently we had a major inspection from the DOD and passed with good marks , this was not without effort though.


The Administration had  a slogan during the run up to the inspection , an admonition to clean up everything that is wrong and would be easy to correct , it went like this;

 "NOW IS THE TIME TO PICK LOW HANGING FRUIT!!!!"

The posters were everywhere , includeing , I kid you not , on the wall over the Urinal in the executive bathroom.

Excellent Video .

It is my experience that military men are very commonly idealists .


I disagree with the central theme though.


Boots on the ground costs a lot more than using the Air Force as a conveyor belt for bombs .

We could afford to bomb a country the size of Iraq very heavily forever or until it was absolutely lifeless, whichever came first.

Boots on the ground are only there for the reason of having mercy on the many who would become collateral damage with the alternative.

If the Army becomes inadequate , the Airforce is standing by with the alternative of wholesale efficiency.
