I understand what the Church says about this, I just think it is wrong. I do not consider the Bible to be the word of God, nor do I consider life to be a gift, anymore than air or water are gifts.

I have studied St. Thomas Aquinas and all those Church dudes, and I consider them to be wrong from the git-go, and their beliefs to be increasingly dangerous to the planet and to humanity. There are too many people on the planet now. We shall never be able to send enough people off-world to bring the population in harmony with the available renewable resources, or at least that is how it looks at the moment.

I do not think that it is anyone else's beeswax to tell as person that they must have a child they do not want.

And who the hell is claiming or demanding that said person MUST keep a child they do not want??

Admit it, you clowns think that somehow you have the right to force a woman through governmental authority to bear a child they do not wish to bear.

It is none of your business. You should not have this right.

If you had to carry a fetus around with you for nine months and squeeze it out of your butt, you would not hold tis opinion for a second.

No....I have the absolute right to want to protect an unborn child who is given NO RIGHTS, what-so-ever.  If the woman does not want the child, fine, give it up for adoption.  But you can stop with the nonsense that anyone who is anti-abortion really wants the woman to keep & raise a child they don't want

If you had to carry <an unborn CHILD> around with you for nine months and squeeze it out of your butt, you would not hold tis opinion for a second.

Well, it wouldn't be the 1st time you were wrong.  And it sure as hell won't be your last

So prove me wrong. Get knocked up and bear a child.
It would amuse all of us, and you could achieve celebrity status.

Since it's biologically impossible at the present time, with your "if" query, we're just going to have to take my say so of what I'd do over your say so of what I'd do.

So, is it your contention that any woman who has a born a child CANNOT be pro-life?

There is certainly something to be said for the woman's rights and her own dignity. Yet, a mother is responsible for the life she carries within her womb as well. This is not some modern and foreign concept. I do believe that part of the problem in modern society is that we've lost much of our respect for motherhood and mothers. Look at how Hillary Clinton was chastised by some for her statement that "it takes a village to raise a child." The truth is, and parents know this, it does take the respect of others to help raise a child properly.

Much of the symbolism for maternity and virtuous motherhood has been removed. This probably won't be a popular statement, but much of that was done through the Protestant Reformation. Women have become objectified and immaterial to many. Marriage, as CU4 tried to justify, has become a trite exercise of hit or miss.

If women were treated properly, I seriously doubt abortion would be the major issue it has become. Motherhood should be seen as a miracle and not a "life-ending" moment. Corporations would offer paid leave to pregnant women and not mistreat them in the workplace. Yet, we don't offer that worldview as a society. Motherhood is punished. There are those who promote shame of unwed mothers, as opposed to love and understanding. Then they turn in wonder at abortion rates!

I remain unimpressed. It is stil none of your effing right to tell anyone what to do with their own body.
It's just meat.

If you have an ABSOLUTE right to prevent abortions, then go bomb an abortion clinic and stop blathering on and on ad infinitum.

No mischaracterization. You determined that Christ's pronouncement that marriage may not be torn asunder is not applicable. We had an entire discussion on it and that was your side of the argument.

Jesus was an expert on the subject of marriage... exactly why?
