http://www.businesspundit.com/25-businessmen-who-broke-the-rules-and-some-laws/

some of this is common sense
jack welsh- reducing 27  to 6 levels of management.

but I find it strange how they protect steve jobs.
true his style does bring the greatest potential out of his employee.
but it`s just no possible for any business to survive in such an eniviroment.
I do notice the very short memories about of his return requiring him never be able to supervise anyone at apple.

Despite its enormous popularity, Craigslist has not received a great deal of respect as a business. Part of the reason is that the world’s premiere classifieds service seems to go out of its way to avoid making a profit. Most of the service is free. (It generates revenue solely through small fees for apartment and job listings in select cities.) There is no advertising. No branding. No attractive user interface. In sum, Craigslist does not actively compete for business. Craigslist’s CEO since 2000, Jim Buckmaster says the key to their success is an anti-commercial value system based on three “ironies”: “the ironies of unbranding, demonetizing, and noncompeting.”

Craigslist is GREAT for the consumer. I am uninterested in how much more it might make if it were owned and run by some moneyhungry bloodsuckers like those running Angie's List. I never buy anything or set out on any garage sailing expedition without checking it out.

I respect Craigslist far more than any other company I do business with.

I like it because it`s way more cost effective
no extra fee`s
ex. shipping,taxes
I surf the local listing on craig
and unlike most thing in the internet you can actually get free stuff
the inherent cost of buying stuff online make craigslist a welcome relief

I love it as well because it is not about selling new stuff that is wasting resources.  When I use it, I feel like it is about getting stuff into the hands of people who need or want it rather than have it sitting around doing nothing.

Last year, I had half a pallet of concrete sitting in my garage that my mother had obtained for free after she had completed a job.  It was masonry concrete and it sat there for a year.  I checked with my mom about it and she had completely forgotten about it and had no use for it.

I put it on Craigslist free to anyone who wanted to come and get it.  It was gone in two days and the guy that came and got it was extremely excited about getting it because he was remodeling his house and had no money.  I felt good, he got the concrete and the garage had more space.

Conversely, EBay has gotten completely out of control.  Everything is WAY overpriced because people are not trying to minimize clutter and get rid of stuff, they are trying to get rich off their bullshit crap they have laying around and they are hoping that someone is sitting out there just dying to spend $500 on some piece of crap doll they've had for 15 years.

I bought my kid of full kid's drum set for like $10 off Craigslist.

it`s minus the greed factor
it just folks trying to get rid of clutter
I rarely use ebay ,because it`s cut throat ways
ebay itself is hurting from this .
it`s no secret alot of people are turned off by the ebay enviroment

Funny that no one has mentioned FreeCycle.

I've brought it up 'round here several times. Guess you tend to ignore my posts.

i just linked it for work

I think what slows it down is the fact you need to register to yahoo
craigslist takes less steps .
but thank you I`ll will look it up again and see what gems I`ll find.
