Bernadette Dohrn.  And Bill Ayers.  My heroine and my hero.  And Bernadette's dad is CEO of the biggest client of the firm that Obama clerked for?  ROTFLMFAO -- and all of that adds up to WHAT?  Bernadette's dad got Obama his clerkship?  I don't think so.  Next!!

If Uncle Sam paid for McCain to go to school, it had to be some R.O.T.C. program, which paid only a fraction of McCain's actual living expenses.

I still don't have a clue who paid for Obama to attend Columbia and Harvard Law.  The ball's in your court on this one, BT.  My homework is done for my arguments, not yours.  If you have a point to make (which so far I can't see any evidence of) then you had better support your point with the fruits of your own research.  I won't do it for you.

Annapolis pays full freight, including a living stipend.

And McCain got into Annapolis on his sterling grades, or did his Admiral father and Admiral grandfather have anything to do with it?  The guy's a fucking MORON, which we both know.  His grades did NOT get him into Annapolis, his family did.

The rest of your argument, I am not going to tease out.  Either you've got something to say about the "elitist" who without any family assistance worked himself up by his own grit and determination to a more illustrious position than anything the moron McCain could ever hope to achieve on his own, or you don't.   And I'm betting you don't.

McCain could have gotten straight D's and been accepted into Annapolis as long as he was nominated by a Congressman. That is the way the system worked.

BTW did Obama attend public school in Hawaii?

Peggy Noonan wrote your original puff piece on McInsane incase you didnt notice.
I'm aware of that i posted it.

BTW you call this line a puff piece?

You posted it BECAUSE it was a puff piece. And dont play dumb. It is way too close to being true.

I thought it was dead on. People don't know who Obama is. And people will hold their nose when they vote for McCain.

Hardly the type of column you clip and stick in your scrapbook.

What was really dead on was the sense that this is a placeholder election. That people aren't thrilled with the choices they have. I see that from people on the left and on the right.

The Congressman wouldn't nominate some schmuck with straight Ds unless he was from Mississippi where straight D's probably get you on the Dean's list.  But if the schmuck's father and grandfather were admirals and had some influence with the guy, he just might.

They're Paying Attention Now
By PEGGY NOONAN
August 22, 2008; Page A11

* * *

I still think a one-term pledge could win it for him, because it would allow America to punt. It would make the 2008 choice seem less fateful. People don't mind the chance to defer a choice when they're not at all sure about the product. It would give bitter Democrats a chance to regroup, and it would give those who like Obama but consider him a little half-baked to vote against him guiltlessly while he becomes fully baked. (Imagine the Q&A when Sen. Obama announces his second presidential run in 2011: "Well, Brian, I think, looking back, there is something to be said for the idea that I will be a better president now than frankly I would have been four years ago. Experience, if you allow it, is still the best of all teachers.") More, it would allow Mr. McCain to say he means to face the tough problems ahead with a uniquely bipartisan attitude and without having to care a fig for re-election. That itself would give him a new power, one that would make up for the lost juice of lame duckdom. It would also serve to separate him from the hyperpolitical operating styles of the Clinton-Bush years, from the constant campaign.

I disagree strongly, last time someone did something like this it was Theodore Rosevelt and he regretted makeing a Lame duck of himself early , four years only is what the people give you , if you do not do well or choose for your self after 3 1/2 years if you are tired.  A pledge to step down in four is value free as far as getting elected is concerned , people who do not like you well enough to put up with eight years of you do not like the idea of four years of you either.

I think they were still doing legacy appointments at the time. Do we know what grades McCain got in highschool or are you just making that up too?

If you paid any attention at all to the thread, you'd see that I was merely following plane's hypothetical example of straight Ds.  I don't make stuff up.  I leave that to Republican bullshit artists who are trying to prove crap like Obama being an "elitist" unlike the more plebeian McCain.

So you have no clue as to whether MCCains grade were worthy of appointment or not.

BTW Cindy is not a billionaire heiress.

<<So you have no clue as to whether MCCains grade were worthy of appointment or not.>>

Oh I've got quite a few clues.  I know the dumbass moron finished fifth from the bottom of his class, and I know he attended some bush-league college whereas Obama attended Columbia.  I don't really think he rode into Annapolis on the crest of a straight-A transcript from an Ivy League university.

<<BTW Cindy is not a billionaire heiress. >>

Yeah, I know, she's only a multi-millionaire heiress, meaning she couldn't possibly be an elitist like Barak and Michelle are.  Thanks for the lesson in nit-picking.  Like it really makes an iota of difference.

What college was that other than Annapolis?

No, he rode into Annapolis on a congressional appointment. Just like Jimmy Carter.

<<What college was that other than Annapolis?>>

Some place I never heard of and you never heard of.

<<No, he rode into Annapolis on a congressional appointment. Just like Jimmy Carter.>>

Exactly my point.  It sure as hell wasn't good grades that got him in there, it was family connections.  Or was it just a pure coincidence that his father and grandfather were admirals?  Do you want to try telling me that nobody at Annapolis knew anything about them?
