Leighton Woodhouse in today's Hufpo

very clever, very good thinking

Sarah Palin isn't as dumb a choice as I thought.

According to Woodhouse, the GOP, realizing the election will be decided on economic issues and not "security," is virtually abandoning its "security" messages.  In the absence of any coherent economic policy, they are going to run on personality only, in which case, Sarah and her life story will - - they hope - - provide a bridge to those they need, people hurt by the economy.  Sarah's someone they can identify with.

In the meantime, attacks on Sarah can be portrayed as elitist and out of touch - - Sarah vs. the Eggheads.

Spin it anyway way you want. The bottom line is Obama screwed himself and McCain is a genius...

McCain?  Genius?  I guess you missed the part where he finished fifth from the bottom of his class at a military academy.  That's hilarious.  Or not.  Maybe everybody who graduates from Annapolis is a genius, even the guys at the bottom.  That must be it.  Annapolis, the school of geniuses.

His intellect got him to levels of success that few ever achieve and he did it without affirmative action too.

Not far from the truth.

The washout rate is high at the military acadimes half of the starting class is missing by graduation.

Harvard might be tough , but it isn't that tough.
