Deserve to be

So, I maintain that one can still 'deserve' to be anything they want to be.

BT. If McCain wants to be president, and I feel that IMO, he deserves to be.....based on new factors which have come up in the past few days....I can say that he deserves to be president.

I still can not understand why you fight me on the point of my opinion.

Obama might deserve to be prez because he is many things....African American, wise beyond his years, kind and compassionate. etc...but I still maintain that IMO, he DESERVES to be our leader if i want him to be.

In the 'what a difference a day makes" span of time, I now believe that McCain just might be the most 'deserving candidate.

You say potato and I say potato

I say we vote our heart in the end.

As a black male..Obama surely deserves to shine, after so many years of race generated oppression.

But, in the end for my own 'opinon'..I must vote for the team of McCain/Palin. They are stronger in their joint efforts. The sum is greater than the individual parts (in this case).

I am thinking that I will be voting for Obama because I think the country needs a president like him, not because he deserves to be president.

We are hiring a president. It's not like we are crowning a Miss America or something like that.
It's a job we need done, it's not a reward we bestow.

I don't like the word "deserve': it is a weasel word, if you think about it.

Life is not a contest in which we are awarded prizes based on our virtues.

I interpret the word deserves to mean entitled.

You perhaps use the word to mean qualifies.

I don't believe Obama deserves to be President because he is black and because his people suffered he deserves to be President.

I don't believe McCain deserves to be President because he is a former POW and suffered at the hands of his captors.

I can understand how those experiences help qualify them to be President , but i don't believe those experiences entitle them to be President.

Perhaps you now have a better understanding of my position.

A student that masters a subject deserves a high grade.

A worker that completes his task has earned his wage.

It is diffrent for high political office , no matter how well one canadate has done , some other canadate might be better.

It is more like going to the market and chooseing food , this food and that food is availible , you choose the food that you think will be the best for yourself and your family.

No food is deserveing , it is just chosen for being the best availible.

This reminds me of William Jennings Brian , who ran for President over and over , we will never know what success or failure he might have been , he was never chosen.

I`m a whole different catagory here.
I`m voting for who will serve my best interest.
I see the job of president unlike everybody else.
the solutions any president proposes usually take longer than his or her terms in office so it`s very unlikely to get completed.
and right now I`m not crazy about either of them so I`m voting the lesser of two evils.
I would prefer both would say they will do the best they can and give ideas.
I hate the save the country nonesense.
I can forgive people falling for and vote(due to my low opinion of people) but I prefer abit more from this position.
I honestly don`t think either one will be great at it,but than that makes them just like the previous guys

Why can't both candidates deserve to work together and "support the country, facilitate the issues accordingly, and make critical decisions along with data to prove value?...

I am for both candidates----all four of them? ;)

I think the constitution might get in the way of that idea.
