Where, O where is Grover Norquist?

Now that we need him to strangle the government in his bath tub.

Especially the part that wants us to pay $700 billion to bail out a bunch of inept bankers.

But you're ok with sending $845 billion to other countries?

Interesting defense Ami.

Are you OK with with the bailout, forget about the aid to other countries?

Whoever the UN decides to give it to. Obama is supporting giving the UN an amount starting at $50 billion a year (with yearly increases), which is estimated to reach a total of $845 billion over the next several year. This is to help out poor countries.

Nope. They made profits when times were good, let 'em fail when times are bad.

Bailing out Freddie and Fannie is one thing (they were forced to underwrite loans that they normally would not due to Congressional mandates). I don't see the same imperative with AIG and some of the other bailouts.

I agree that it makes more sense to bail out Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae than the others.

I certainly am against any golden parachutes for the execs that made this mess.

As for the UN thing, I imagine that the amount is negotiable. The US is relatively cheap when it comes to total money donated per capita. Denmark, Luxembourg and Sweden are at the top of the list, and the US is about no. 28 on a per capita basis. It would be necessary to see that the money goes to valid causes, rather than corruption, of course.
