No, it is not like that at all. There is such a thing as  a Southern accent, but it is not a language, nor even divergent enough to be called a dialect.

No one DOES speak Southern. Or Northern, or Eastern, or Western.

 In the Southern US, many people speak English with a Southern American accent.

Yeah, that's right, Ami.  Sadly, McCain is not in the habit of making soul-baring confessions live on TV or leaving handwritten confessions of racism, prejudice and various other base motivations for his choices.  How easy it would be if he were.
