I would tend to think that snopes or anyone would be more thorough in investigating the eligibility of the frontrunner in a presidential campaign than the origin of the word "chad".
I do not expect this "yo, Obama is really an Indonesian with a faked birth certificate bit" to go beyond the Barking Mad Loon stage.
