I'm not concerned in the least. I have 82K with no new brakes yet. Still driving with original brakes. When I owned a Tahoe every 20K or less it cost me about $400 for new pads and turning the rotors. My Prius has worked flawlessly from day one. It still drives like new and I get the carpool lanes and average 46 MPG. I have no interest in getting the floor mat problem fixed either -- mine works fine. I can understand why you like your Lexus. Toyota makes the best and too bad for US auto makers but they made the bed they lie in now. I have owned GM, Ford Chrysler and none of them comes close to my Toyota. A car to me is nothing more than transportation.

I've had 5 Toyotas, and 3 Lexuses, and only 1 problem, which was easily fixed. 8 cars, one minor problem.

And when you had a problem the dealer fixed it, efficiently and professionally. My dealer gave me, at no charge, a loaner car when I had a major service and I didn't even ask for it. Sometimes they actually bother me because every time I bring my car in they call to see if I'm happy with the service.

U.S. opens investigation into Toyota Prius
The Associated Press
11:33 AM EST February 4, 2010

When the Prius moves on a bumpy or slippery surface, a driver can feel a pause in the braking when the vehicle switches between the traditional hydraulic brakes and the electronically operated braking system, said Paul Nolasco, a Toyota spokesman.

Safety regulators opened a formal investigation into consumer complaints about braking on 2010 Toyota Prius hybrids, the latest jolt to the automaker already reeling from massive recalls and intensified safety scrutiny.

Prius is the world's best-selling hybrid, and U.S. consumers have clamored for the gasoline-electric vehicle as tastes gravitate away from gas guzzlers to cars and trucks with better fuel efficiency.

Toyota Motor Corp shares, which fell 6 percent on the New York Stock Exchange on Wednesday, were off another 2.3 percent in morning trading on Thursday. They closed off 35 percent in Tokyo.

The Transportation Department's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said it had received 124 complaints about momentary Prius braking problems after motorists rolled over bumps or potholes.

Motorists allege four crashes and two minor injuries were caused by the problems. The NHTSA investigation covers 37,000 vehicles.

No going straight. But I can't quite make it to 100 on a long uphill like the Grapevine. Of course I use performance tires, I use the Michelin Primacy MX4 185/65R15

ohh

figured it out
they`re screwed

it`s not a design flaw
it`s a design improvement that people cannot except
ex. vista.

gonna be a rough patch for toyota and other hybrid makers who used that brake design
