You can be a vegetarian and still eat ice cream, except for the meat-flavored ice creams, which are rare.

I think you could be permitted ice cream made from human breast milk and still be a vegan as well.

As I understand it "vegans" do not eat anything made from animal products....
Most ice cream contains some form of animal product.
But I am sure there are some specialty ice creams available that are animal product free.
What they would taste like?.....ummm.....not sure they would taste like Blue Bell.

I read somewhere meat can be eaten as long it doesn`t involve harming animals.

ex. human placenta.

I got this from a old issue of straght dope a trivia article.

I have not tried soy ice cream, but they do sell it (for a rather high price) at Whole Foods.
I bought some good soy cheese there that was a good substitute for Mozzarella. It melted well, and was indistinguishable from cow cheese Mozarella, except for costing over twice as much.

I am pretty sure that you could make ice cream out of human breast milk. Or you could probably milk your dog or cat without being overly exploitative. Not that I actually would want to try such ice cream, but still.

I do not feel that milking cows and goats is by necessity cruel, and neither is filching unfertilized eggs from hens.

In the case of hens, egg-laying hens are mutants compared with any wild birds. In the wild, no bird lays an egg a day, ever.

Cows can be mistreated and perhaps even most milk cows are mistreated, but giving milk (again in huge amounts with respect to the number of calves a cow normally would have) is not in and of itself, cruel.

It is not cruel to make shoes out of a deceased cow's hide, either.

It would not be cruel to make stuff out of deceased humans, for that matter: ghoulish, perhaps, but not cruel.

i would assume many vegans (not all) don't give a shit about the cows
they are vegans for health reasons....that would be the primary reason
I would aspire to be a vegan....but I like real ice cream & other tasty delights
that come from animal products too much...although I do agree that the
treatment of animals for food processing is just horrendous!

vegans for health reasons?

not sure that`s a good idea

remember on record a very small percent  of longlife people are vegans.
possibly none are vegans actually

moderations seems to be the best option so far.

a balanced diet with no excesses.

meaning no sizzlers buffet.

but I would think about cutting down on gluten like kramer says.
