It is absurd to believe that people will self deport. Another GOP myth like lowering taxes on businesses will raise revenues.

No work and no benefits would no doubt = self deport
No work, no bennies would soon equal no gas, no rent money, no nothing.
I assure you....they would leave.
They are illegal and do not belong here.

Get Out Invaders!

Four so-called "refugees", ostensibly fleeing war and persecution, have attempted to swim back to Turkey from Greece shortly after arriving in Europe.

The migrants, reported to by Moroccans, attempted the swim this Monday. They had been staying in Souda, one of three camps on the island of Chios.

The Island has the capacity to house around 1,200 migrants in official new camps, with electricity and free food. However, there is already overcrowding, as migrants are now required to register rather than being waved onto ferries and the mainland.

The registry offices are overwhelmed, and waiting times are said to be more than 50 days. Tired of the wait and losing confidence in ever reaching the generous welfare states of Northern Europe, the men simply decided to swim back to Turkey.

However, they were noticed by a fishing boat, pick up and handed over to the local Coast Guard. Another similar case was reported on Tuesday with two more refugees trying to swim back to Turkey.

Coast Guard officials told the Ethnos newspaper the migrants are perhaps against registering as refuges because if they are rejected they will be kept in holding centres before being deported back to their native countries. Some would rather attempt to illegally enter Europe.

In late March, Turkey and Brussels agreed to close the so-called Balkan route by which over a million migrants travelled through Greece and Macedonia north to the other EU member states during the past year.

According to the agreement, in exchange for financial and political favours Turkey pledged to take back all the illegal migrants who cross into the European Union from its borders.

Brussels will provide 3 billion euros in aid to Ankara for the more than 2 million Syrian refugees residing in Turkey, with the option to increase aid by an additional 3 billion. Turkey also expects an accelerated process of accession to the EU, one of its long-standing goals.

The deal has faced strong opposition from rights groups. A senior UN migration official, Peter Sutherland, has said Saturday that the deal was "absolutely" illegal and Amnesty International claimed that Turkey was not a "safe country".

You are  naive if you think they cannot provide the required IDs.
Trump did not speak of self-deportation. He spoke of rounding up and sending them all back, even their US-born children.

Not gonna happen.
Would not happen if Trump were elected, which will also not happen.

What do the  People of the United States want ? How does this get congressman elected and reelected?

Which congressman are you referring to?
================================================

Most people are not single issue voters. They may vote for a guy because he attracted a defense plant or financed a highway or bridge or a set of things. In addition he may want to deport people.

Expelling 11 million people and deporting them would be very expensive and emotional. Many people would appear on the nightly news that a majority of Americans would think deserve to be here. No one wants to see children separated from their parents even once, let alone every night. Think about it.
They will NOT be fired, because they are needed, Their bosses will not fire them.
Trump will never be given the power to punish those that hire illegals, Congress will not give it to him.

Don't you suppose that more than eleven million Union members are prepared to vote in their own interests?

How much are American workers supposed to support the importation of labor that is "needed " to make the union worker unneeded?

Union leadership being in thrall to the Democratic party is an unstable relationship, it will either destroy the unions or destroy the relationship between the Democrats and the unions.

Will it be Hillary Clintons job to persuade the unneeded American workers that we need the imported labor?

Voting for Trump would not be in their interests, because Trump will not deport 11 million illegals. Congress will refuse to vote funds to do this,

Trump's main talent was building things, To do this profitably, illegal labor is needed. Trump did not hesitate to save less than a dollar per necktie when faced with the question of having his neckties sewn here or in China, even though the damned things were retailed for $50 each.

Have you heard Trump say he would repeal Taft-Hartley? Have you heard him say that he wanted pro-union laws passed so more people could elects to be represented by unions?

I don't think it is impossible to deport a huge number of people , I am aware that it would be a miserable thing , not greatly different from the >Trail of tears.<  What we did to the Cherokee must have cost us something , but that is not what we remember the incident for.

There might be something better to do , and I hope so, but don't call it impossible or unprofitable that is merely "challenging" not "impossible". So don't rely on the impossibility.

Frankly and personally I would like it fine if the entire eleven million could be employed on lots of large construction projects, farming and manufacturing.  With of course another eleven million jobs found for the American citizens who need them.
Would this cost less than eleven million bus tickets?

Who knows? That is not the issue. And it is hardly a matter of 11 million bus tickets, either.

Congress, including the Republican members have not even suggested voting funds for this,
And they clearly will not do so, no matter who the president is.

Who knows? That is not the issue.

Then what is the issue?

Why should anyone who wants an ordinary job for himself vote to import more workers ?

The official union may voice support for Hillary, but practically everyone qualified to join a union will be voting for a wall and feeling sore at the union leadership.
