Potentially funny, but entirely based on unreality.

Allah Akbar (ie God is Great) is the only thing that any of those imams would have said, and they were in the airport, not on the plane.

If we assume that God created the universe, this would tend to imply some degree of greatness in anyone's assumptions, doncha think?

And you were there of course, to make such a claim of certainty, as to what they "would have" said

I have see arguments to the effect that less should be spent on preemptive overseas action against terrorists , and more rather spent on security here .

If security spending were doubbled here, wouldn't the result be more scrutiny of passengers?

I myself would like to hope that the lion's share of security for airlines was not seemingly based on the latest incident and subsequent immediate adoption--like taking real long minutes to examine everybody's shoes after that huge-eyed, lit-up mountain arab had a bomb in his heel.

I would have thought that they would have already think-tanked that one, already had it on the chitcard . . . "hollow heels."

Maybe there is no agency communication between them and the emmigration people, or the penal system people, or Andy and Barney.

I am sorry.  Airline security to me is remiscent of duck tape and polyethylene.

Seems to operate on response, smarming the feelings of the flyers, with little real actual security going on.

I guess all the action is in landing the contract.

How about funding a lot of infiltrators into the orginasitions that are most likely to commit such acts?

your right on the landing the contract part
just after 9-11 a incredibily huge amount of money was spent on beefing security in airports and last year it was found most of them was pretty much useless.
I totally predicted that would happen.
evey single business in the world will say they are the best.
and government agencies has no system to determine whats best and never will.
as a civil servent I see this way too much.

Yet another totally unreal cartoon.

If any of it were actually true it might have been funny. Not very funny, just mildly so.
The artwork is not very humorous, either. Could it be that  Ratwingers tend to lack the imagination to be truly funny or treuyly satirical?
