Susan Bolton is a US District Judge for the District of Arizona.
She joined the court in 2000 after being nominated by President Bill Clinton.

It was no secret that the administration went shopping for a judge, even before bringing this to trial

If I understand the basis to her ruling, it appears she doesn't believe the police can do their job effectively, nor able to accurately determine when it's reasonable to assume someone may be here in the country illegally, and therefore should not even be burdened in doing their work

What a legal slap in the face to law enforcement, this ruling was

On to the appeal phase

Why? The trial hasn't been held yet. There is nothing to appeal.

The judge only put the contested provisions on hold until the trial is completed; this is a fairly standard procedure.

A trial based on what?  The ruling is based on mere speculation, of what might happen, not what would.  Rulings, IIRC are SUPPOSED to be based on case law, precedent, and/or actual legitimate examples of how the proposed law is unconstitutional

I'd assume now that any court procedings will be dragged out, in polar opposite fashion of how fast this was run into Judge Bolton's Court, where, I do believe, she'd be the preciding judge....no?

?This fight is far from over. In fact, it is just the beginning, and at the end of what is certain to be a long legal struggle, Arizona will prevail in its right to protect our citizens. I am deeply grateful for the overwhelmingly support we have received from across our nation in our efforts to defend against the failures of the federal government.

I have consulted with my legal counsel about our next steps. We will take a close look at every single element Judge Bolton removed from the law, and we will soon file an expedited appeal at the United States Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit.

For anyone willing to see it -- the crisis is as clear as is the federal government?s failure to address it."

They're appealing her decision on the pre-trial motions that stayed the provisions of the law.

It's unlikely that this appeal will lead anywhere, especially since it's only a temporary injunction. There is still the trial to go through.

True, BUT, I accurately opined that in which indeed the Governor is now following.....that of the appeals process
