Originally, Muslims were instructed to pray facing Jerusalem, not Mecca. When Mo went for his famous aerial one-night aerial horseback ride, he went to Jerusalem. Jerusalem is recognized in Islam as the thrid holiest site in the world (though I am not sure how one quantifies holiness). Muslims, like Jews, were monotheistic, and they had that in common. Then Mo had a tribal feud with some local Jews in Mecca or Medina and he said nasty things about them and ordered the faithful to face Mecca instead of Jerusalem.

You know, Rich, I really feel if you were a bit more respectful in your initial responses to a post, this whole debate wouldn't get down to the level that it unfortunately has reached.  Both XO and I have felt the contempt and disrespect you voice for any opinion other than "USA is No. 1, Muslims are shit, liberals are shit, gays are shit, etc." and that's OK, it's your opinion and we understand that.  But I'm sure that XO would agree with me, a little respect, a little common courtesy, on your part would be met with some reciprocity on ours, the debate wouldn't have to get down to the level where it is right now.

Rush made a great comparison the other day when he said Ayers is another Timothy McVeigh. Puts it in perspective wouldn't you say?

Ayers killed no one and never attempted to kill anyone. He set off a minor bomb at the Pentagon when it was unlikely to harm anyone, and blew up the same silly policemen stature in Haymarket Square twice.

Mc Veigh deliberately killed as many people as he could, including children in a daycare center.

This is typical of the drivel spewed by Limbaugh. He appeals to the soft-headed, the yokels, the hicks and the buffoons.

McVeigh killed a lot of people and not by accident.  Ayers made every effort to spare human life and the only people killed by one of this bombs died by accident.

Unless you equate real estate with human life, so that the destruction of one equals the destruction of the other, no, I don't think that Ayers is remotely comparable to McVeigh.
