For 7 bleeding years, the GOP ran on repealing Obamination Care....and rightly so, given the monstrous mess it was designed to be. 7 bleeding years, they had to forge a cohesive consensus piece of legislation, to reign in an over Governmental socialist over reach, and give it back to the people. 7 bleeding years
It won't be Trump that loses any GOP majorities, be it the House and/or Senate. The GOP has that all to themeselves, if they blow this

Yes , quite so...
-
Yeah, hard to get anything done when you come in without a plan and all you have is empty rhetoric.

True .
But everyone to the left of Ann Coulter expected Hillary Clinton to win.
The Republicans of Congress probably did have a plan , to cope with the ongoing decay of Obamacare and to resist Presidential initiatives.
Mistake it not , a Hillary win would have been good for a lot of Republicans , might have become an unstoppable majority in congress.
Sooner.

But everyone to the left of Ann Coulter expected Hillary Clinton to win.
Does this indicate that there is a majority of Americans to Ann Coulters right?
No.
Just a majority of voting Americans.
-
Well said.
Next?
Panic Mode.

Actually, the GOP could simply lead on what they campaigned on, vs letting the fringe moderates dictate passage or not. Years they've had to get folks like Susan Collins on board. The GOP havs only themselves to blame for not corraling their party, the way the Dems corraled their lefitist elements, like Senator Kucinich, who had no plans to support Obamination Care, because it wasn't single payer, and "didn't go far enough"
-
the only sticking point I see is pre`existing condition. it`s the one issue that got obamacre through as long as the gop use that same platform they should get it through. so what`s are the changed that made the gop vulnerbale
-
If I understand the concepts of the potential legislation, pre-existing conditions are managed. What is losing the moderate elements like Susan Collins, is that it doesn't fund PP
-
what`s pp?
-
Planned Parenthood (sorry)
-
It seemed the GOP is not making am effort to say coverage on pre-existing conditions is comparable to the previous plan. By that I mean simply state no negative changes . In politics that a flaw that the opposition can exploit.
Doesn't help that some members can be made to look like they don't believe in coverage which could be true.
-
I got coverage on pre-existing condition years ago, I work for a very influential customer.
This feature and several other popular features of Obamacare might not have required a complete remake of the entire system, just making this feature a requirement in a simple bill might have worked better .
But having the government gain a great economic power and control over everyday life , that probably did require a big and complex change that corrupts the good of the previous system.
-
what surprise me is what qualifies as a pre-existing cond. ex. diabeties, allergies, asthma. all of these are so common and life threatening I`m actually amazed so many people think they don`t deserve coverage and call it acceptable loss. I still remember in a rand paul rally people saying "let them die"
I very much doubt those statements can be said out loud anymore
