Just saw a UPS Store ad....they said they can "text a customer if a package is in their box".
Then they ended the commercial by saying Happy MLK Day.....by the way "we'll be open tomorrow"!
Nice slam at the US Post Office who of course will be closed.
Ha Ha....

I get accurate traces on packages sent to me via the USPS all the time.

The post office can't guarantee delivery, nor will they cover losses without paying extra.

In the past 40 years, I have had one UPS package arrive smashed, and one sent by me to my sister via USPS broken. No one compensated me for anything. The insurance would have cost more than the damage in both cases.

FedEx, USPS and UPS have all provided excellent service.

It is rather foolish to lambaste the USPS for taking MLK Day off.

UPS shipments are automatically insured for $100.00, at no extra charge, not so with the post office.

What does this mean? Does UPS provide boxes?
They always deliver directly to my home.

UPS allows for hold for pickup. Perhaps that is what they are referring to.

UPS also allows for shipments to redirect in mid flight if say you want the delivery to your office instead of your home.

Post office, nope.

Of course they offer mail boxes.
Plus it is a street address and not a "P.O. Box".
And all UPS box customers can get an e-mail if they so choose when something arrives in their box.

The nearest UPS is about 4 miles away from me, in Hialeah.

I have never seen any mailboxes there.

The US Post Office is three blocks from my home, and there is less waiting than at UPS. FedEx is 6 miles away.
