Title: Well, looks like it's pretty much over.
Post by: Amianthus on November 08, 2006, 02:12:59 AM
Unless something major happens between now and tomorrow morning, looks like the Dems took the House but not the Senate, and picked up a few governor seats.

'nite all.

Speaker Pelosi!

Thank God.
Here in Ohio, we have a Democratic: gov, sen, my rep., and a whole slew of state officials.

Just want to point out that the Dems took the House and the Senate and Bush fired Rummy and a gay marriage amendment LOST in one state.

Now what does this say about the voters, The Peoples' states of mind?

Were they hoodwinked?  Were they propagandized?  Did the  Dems steal the elections?  I'm just wondering where its going to go.

Did the  Dems steal the elections?

Well, obviously not. If the Dems won, it had to be honest, right?

I seem to remember you saying that Republican wins would be indicative of stealing elections. ;D

Considering poll after poll said that the Dems were going to win.  If the Reps had won some of the big ones, say like Ohio had gone GOP again, I'd have call it a stolen election.

if the GOP had won them all like the Dems have, I'd be buying a gun today.

I'm glad Ford lost because I had been expecting his father to pull some bullshit.  Last night as the numbes started coming in, the Cohen in District 9 numbers were not coming in with all the others and i started to get suspicious.  But that went really well.

We traded a conservative Lieberman wannabe for a real honest to goodness progressive.  I couldn't be prouder.

Lugo lost but that is no surprise at all.  I never imagined that he would.  And his votes played absolutely no role in Ford's loss.  (I wish that it had.)

The voting public has spoken. Now, let's see what we got. :-)

It will play itself out over time. Let's revisit this conversation, say, a year from now, and see what we've got. I honestly do not know if it will be gridlock, progress or what. But, it should be an intriguing journey.

What I really want to find out in the next two years is if W will use another veto.

Well, I believe Clinton used 23 or so vetoes in his last two years and only two were overwridden by Newt's Congress.

Hey that is a good idea.

Yesterday I bought a pantry full of canned beans , I might ought to stock up on rifle ammo to defend this treasure after our economy gets taxed to death.
