Is anyone really surprised at those gutless bastards? If the Democratic Party wholeheartedly pushed for an impeachment, the 45% would be well over the 50% mark in a matter of weeks, months at most. Considering the travesty of the Clinton impeachment, this cowardice is going to work well for the Republicans.
Whatever the difficulties, I think the time is really ripe for a new political party in the U.S.A. - - the Democrats have abandoned even the pretense of opposing the ruling class in America.

I am hopelessly behind the times, I guess, because I still remember Watergate.
People saw how bad that administration was, and there were people in Congress who saw it as their solemn duty to investigate and if necessary bring charges. So I don't see the problem in doing so now.
Congress was busy then, there was a war on then. If they're not brave enough to do the job, quit and sell shoes.

New Gallup data show confidence in Congress at all time low
Just 14% of Americans have a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in Congress.
This 14% Congressional confidence rating is the all-time low for this measure, which Gallup initiated in 1973. The previous low point for Congress was 18% at several points in the period of time 1991 to 1994.

You are indeed misleading because confidence is not the same as approval and even an idiot Repub should know that. ( Although the stupid Sirs obviously doesnt) I would bet that a similar question on Bush would find him far lower. He will be the most despised Pres in history unless the de3vil is elected next. No one takes the word of proven lying Repubs anymore. Those days are long gone.

The operative words are:"Just 14% of Americans have a great deal or quite a lot of confidence in Congress" I dont have that right now either for Chrissakes and thee reason I and probly the others that changed is because they have not reigned in the madmen, Bush & Cheney.
